What rebuild?
Flames are not rebuilding with Huberdeau, Weegar, Kadri, Backlund, Coleman on the roster. They will do a quick retool. Andersson seems young enough to be part of that.
and Pagnotta says its been a couple of seasons now that Andersson would welcome a trade..
Why does he seem eager to want out? I thought he was one of the lifers in CGY as he was drafted and developed by the team.
Total fluff article but I do like Andersson, one of the best quotes I have seen from a Flame lolFlames' Rasmus Andersson eyes future in Calgary despite uncertainty
Rasmus Andersson wants to remain a Calgary Flame. For the rest of this season, next season and hopefully beyond. If only it were that simple.www.sportsnet.ca
Is Pagnotta a D level insider?
What? 1.5 year of Kuzmenko at $5.5 million.. you think that would require 2 first round picks or a 1st and good prospect to dump? Are you crazy? Lol. That is and always was a very obvious "ride out". Any team in a non-playoff position could just finish out the half a year because who cares, you're not using the saved cap space from trading away Lindholm for anything. And then if you really wanted to dump in the offseason you probably look to attach a 2nd to a tanky team that doesn't care about Cap and can use the player as a stopgap.. and go from there. You don't need to exaggerate to try and make a point. You make it sound like he was in year 1 of an eight year at $8 million+.They ate 2 years of Kuzmenko making 6mil a year. Do you know how much it would cost for a team to get rid of a 6mil cap dump with term..... 2x 1st? 1st and prospect?
....
heck the 28th OA and 4th round pick should be what the Canucks paid just to get rid of 2 years of Kuzmenko.
Benson is going nowhere. But something around Byram for Andersson makes a ton of sense for both sides.Byram and Benson
It will be three 1sts the next time he posts about it if Brzustewicz is doing wellWhat? 1.5 year of Kuzmenko at $5.5 million.. you think that would require 2 first round picks or a 1st and good prospect to dump? It's more about looking at multiple factors. That being said, if the Jets had an extension in place or had it discussed with Pionk, and traded from a position of depth for Andersson (say a 1st and Barlow as an example), and then moved Andersson in the summer to recoup most of the cost to acquire, that could be an interesting move.Ya sure and like 3-5 teams do it every year. If you're more worried about two years from now than this playoffs it's not wise. Your owner and GM are who matter.

“I hate the Oilers, I hate the Canucks and that’s just the way I am.
Business is business quotes from both sides doesn't exactly scream long term signing
Andersson
“Of course I would love to stay here, but I’ve heard from everyone else who has been in my situation that it’s a business.
"So we’ll see what happens.”
Conroy
“Our relationship is really strong. But, I had strong relationships with Lindy, Hanifin and Big Z (Nikita Zadorov), and I understand, hey, it's a business.
“I have to do what's best for the organization, and they have to do what they feel is best for themselves.”
Their own 1st + Matheson should be enough.Since Calgary probably doesn't want to re-build given the age of their core i wonder if
Habs 1st top 5 protected + Matheson + Roy/Kapanen make sense.
First in the 10-20 range + top 4 Lhd (can play on the right) + a good prospect that should be in the NHL next year.
I’m pretty sure he’s from Cranbrook, BC not Calgary but I may be wrong.

He is in rental price range now. That’s…A 1st and a really solid C prospect are the two must haves in my mind for a Andersson deal. Throw in whatever on either side after that to make it work.
There should be several motivated buyers. I really think WPG should be all over this.
No he’s not. He’s at rental value next deadlineHe is in rental price range now. That’s…
Playoff team 1st ( expected 20-33 top 10 protected) + a not top 5 prospect ( likely a 2nd round pick)+ current contract to balance out some salary
If the team player is better then the 1st becomes a condition 2nd and the prospect is lower.
Easy fella. I wasn’t trying to offend you, I just wondered if I had gotten it wrong or missed something.Okay, semantics guy. There is no NHL franchise closer to where he grew up than Calgary, better? What town no one has ever heard of are you from and what’s your closest metropolitan area? I’m from a town called Huntington, which is not NYC, but definitely would be considered being “from NYC” if I was in the NHL and the Rangers or Islanders were trading for me.

1+ are rentalsHe is signed for next season as well so not really a true rental. He plays a premium position and is underpaid as it is, with retention it would be one of the best bargain deals in the league.
Not a top 5 prospect? Like league wide? If you're talking from a single organization then I'd disagree unless it's a Buffalo or Montreal type 1st coming back.
Seeing how the Flames got a low return on Hanifin.
TO VAN: Andersson
TO CGY: Suter, Desharnai, 1st, 2nd
The problem is those are mostly late 1stsI’m not sold on Calgary wanting more firsts to be honest. We have 4 of them over the next two years, after having two last year.
I think they’ll want quality for Rasmus personally. I see him in a trade that brings Calgary a higher end piece.
so, I think I've seen a few post from oilers fan,
