Pretty average throughout the playoffs. Just never seemed to kick things up a gear.
Stripping Barkov of the C seems like a terrible idea. Everybody knows it’s Tkachuk’s team, I’m not sure publicly demoting your franchise center who has shown to be somewhat mercurial anyways is going to do anything but further undermine Barkov’s play under pressure.
Tkachuk clearly doesn’t need the C on his chest to be the heartbeat of this team.

He cost his team the cup. If he played like a top player in the league there is no reason why he can't match Eichel. Instead he was legit invisible. Only time I saw him was when he was gliding back defensively as Stone scored short handed.

He’s referring to the Huberdeau trade. Not sure he’s correct though. That trade turned out great for Florida. Don’t see why Barkov would be upset about it.

Tkachuk the heartbeat of the Panthers… Comparing a wing to a Selke level center who is always in the right position etc. 
Is it North American fans who have this obsession of stripping every European C off his captaincy at some point? Why is this a thing?
Panthers just went to the Stanley Cup finals. No one expected them to be there. Barkov had 3rd most points in the team, while being excellent defensively. Why are we looking for someone to blame here?
It’s obvious Vegas had the much deeper squad.

So many terrible takes in this thread. I don't mean the ones giving Barkov deserved criticism, I mean the ones like "he cost his team the cup", "he should lose the C", "It's Tkachuks team". Absolutely horrendous takes. It's interesting how differently people view Barkov here compared to other hockey forums, like in Reddit for example.
I think this forum might just have more "old school" hockey fans who view Barkov's somewhat non-chalant but effective playstyle as "soft" and "heartless". His calm personality might add to that feeling: he doesn't punch people after whistles and is a quiet guy. That doesn't mean he should be stripped of the captaincy.
He almost always makes the right decisions on the ice (aside from some shoot/pass offensive ones), and is a terribly effective and reliable in what he does. He is a coaches dream player in a way. If you don't see how Barkov played a part in Panthers reaching the finals, I don't know what to tell you. Remove Barkov from the team, and they don't sniff the finals. Heck, they don't even make the playoffs.
As a Panther fan, I wish Barkov would become more selfish and shoot more. I wish he was less injury prone. He has his clear flaws. Like Tkachuk, who can take stupid penalties and is not as effective when not scoring as Barkov. Like Bobrovsky, who is the definition of an on/off goaltender. He can steal games and series when on, but when he gets rattled, he gets lit up. Putting the blame on Panthers losing on Barkov's shoulders screams stat watching, or watching the games with limited understanding. I'm not sure which is worse.

He was only 4th best forward for Florida Panthers in terms of creating scoring chances at 5vs5. Slightly underwhelming overall for his pay, definitely very good defensively though.

Dude was tasked to shut down opponents on the first 3 series, WHY CANT HE just start scoring against Vegas?? What a bum!

How about scoring chances created minus scoring chances given up (per 60). Wouldn’t be surprised if he was first. There’s more to the game than just offense. There’s defense.
While I don't have the data on that, Barkov's xga/60 was quite high in these playoffs. He had a negative shot, fenwick and xg share at 5vs5, was slightly positive in corsi though.
