Anyone concerned though that we take on the entire contract from a $$ point? So now if Hall goes for $11, we just used up $20 million towards the cap.

Hall's already on the books for $6 million, so it's more like adding $14 million.

It's only 3 years and going into today we were below the floor. We will still have space for a Hall extension and in two years time if we need to we can probably pawn that last year of Subban to Seattle in the expansion draft. Otherwise Subban's deal earmarks money for big Hughes extansion off his ELC if he is as good as we expect.

No. Greene's $5m deal ends after this season, and Zajac's $5.75m deal ends the year after that. We have space to work with.

And that's where the supreme drafting by Shero/Castron will come into full effect. We're building up the pipeline with good players who will plug and play around our core of Hughes, Hischier, Smith, and hopefully Hall. I would say Severson is a part of the core too given his sweetheart deal

Drafting in this day and age is key.

I have my doubts about Subban as a true no. 1 but at that price, I cannot hate at all.

Rejean, you sandbagging sonofa*****.

The timing of his contract in relation to the rookies coming in this year...what a beauty.

What have I been saying about TRUSTING IN SHERO?

All of you who were bashing him for not doing anything....YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Shero just fleeced Poile.

Or maybe I should use "Chiarelli'd" instead? lol

I'd argue Davies is the most valuable piece in this trade tbh, and he was a former 7th round pick. So yeah, Shero/Castron hitting on their draft picks is paying off in spades at the moment.

I like Davies, but he isn't a unique player or even one we don't have other comparisons of in our organization. No doubt he has improved a lot since being picked in the 7th round, but he's a replaceable asset. #34 today was the best piece we gave up, but this is a deep 2nd round so the players we're going to get a 55 and 61 aren't a huge drop off.
