A lot of you guys are undervaluing the player. We got an elite player.

What say you?
I'm not 100% on board with moving Zacha to wing nor am I in love with McLeod but I don't mind this lineup. Two scoring lines, the best third line in the league (probably) and a fast disruptive 4th line.
Im still waiting for Mcleod to actually do something to be called an NHLer.
Is Frolik a UFA?Hall-Hischier-Bratt

I wanted Frolik in 2015 and he’d be a nice 3rd line addition, but I’m not sure he moves the needle enough for me to want to buy him.Friedman mentioned today that Shero might be looking at him; Shero kicked the tires on Frolik when he was a free agent in 2015. Calgary currently has ~13 million to re-sign Tkachuk/Bennett/Rittich plus another goalie (sounds like Talbot).
Frolik at 4.3 million cap hit (3 mil actual salary) could get moved just to open up some breathing room. Seems like Frolik got lost a little in the shuffle with a new coach plus them bringing in Lindholm/Neal at RW. Frolik still put up respectable numbers (34 points in 65 games with no PP time) and Calgary fans seem to say that Frolik still gives an honest effort.

It wouldn't be very expensive and there's not a lot on the UFA market that's comparable. Like with Subban, the Devils would be paying so as to mitigate the future risk, and they have players who might be a year away from taking that kind of role.
Yes, but if we look at our current forwards, we have a few new players who may well be NHL capable now. Boqvist and Maltsev both come to mind.
Ya, I don't know about Maltsev, but Boqvist and Anderson for sure. Maybe throw Bastian in there too.Yes, but if we look at our current forwards, we have a few new players who may well be NHL capable now. Boqvist and Maltsev both come to mind.
I'd be for getting Frolik, however I do think Boqvist will earn a spot. If he does I'd rather see him get a spot on the second line, with Zacha being in Macleod's spot. McLeod definitely needs another season at least in the minors. At this point we need to be patient with him and hope he can develop into a bottom six player that can provide value relative to his AAV in a few years when we are contending.Hall-Hischier-Bratt

the jesper bratt exception thoMaltsev couldn't make the KHL full-time last season. Boqvist has promise but isn't similar to Frolik at all - Frolik would play with Zajac and Coleman. I don't think they'd put Boqvist there.
