That seems silly. What teams wouldn't want to claim him on a deal that cheap? You could probably stick him on any third line in the league and get 10-15 goals.

Guess they could ease Barzal in on the wing, but he looks like a natural center if I've ever seen one. Thanks for the info.

As a Rangers fan I hate seeing these kids winning jobs, but it's nice for the rivalry at least.

Arthur Staple mentioned Ho-Sang getting that #1RW spot.

All the kids (including Dal Colle) have looked good in training camp. Parenteau's roster spot is up for grabs for them to fight over now.

Right shot as well. Decent chance EDM claims him, we have second crack at him after TOR.

With Grabovski out on LTIR, and Strome seemingly back in Capuanos doghouse, there just might be a spot at center ice for Barzal. He was certainly one of if not the best Islander forward during preseason. That would push Strome back to RW and still leave a spot for Ho-Sang.

Thanks. You see Dal Colle making the jump next season?

Can't stand these nicknames that nobody knows the hell they are. Is it really so difficult to type out the whole damn name?

(Not directed at you)

Didn't take it that way, don't worry about it. I've been calling Beauvillier "Beau", but every Islander fan knows who I'm talking about.

I don't know about next season for Dal Colle. Probably should be ready by then, but it depends on who's still on the roster. We have a lot of players signed through next year.

They just resigned him after he had a decent year in Toronto... what gives? doesn't bode well going forward w free agents i'm sure.

Shouldn't really matter, imo. I want the player who earned the spot on the roster, not the guy who signed a 1 year deal there, just because.

I guess Barzal and/or Beauviller have impressed.

Barzal, Beauvillier and Ho-Sang basically all pushed for jobs. Parenteau, Strome and Bailey amongst others looked like they were relying on their contract status to guarantee them a spot. And now one of them is on waivers.

I love it. Rookies earning their spot over vets.

Staple thinks he's been waived because Josh Ho-Sang made the team. Ho-Sang had a hell of a camp, but this can't be enough to warrant waiving Parenteau.

Dal Colle is the only one that didn't really push for a spot. That's fine, because he was never going to make it anyway, but he didn't make the decision that hard, although he had a solid camp. Tito is Anthony Beauvillier, and he tore the preseason up and maybe made the roster. He must be three years ahead of schedule.

For someone like me who saw him play about 50 times in Shawinigan, I can't say he is ahead of schedule. Always been a beast and so complete player. You're lucky to have him, I still wish Habs would have taken him instead of Juulsen :banghead:

You know what, the guys who earn spots should play. That's why Yakupov got the boot from EDM, I fully understand and agree with you. Open competition and the best players who earn spots should get them.

We already had a go-around with this guy. No thanks.

Lol, he played 5 games on a dog**** Blackhawks team as a raw kid.

You easily take a 20 goal, strong possession player like Parenteau on this team over the likes of Mashinter, Tootoo, Hartman, etc.

He's got strong underlying analytics, I know you're into possession and shot suppression statistics.

Desharnais is a better NHLer than Parenteau. Pareanteau is a pure floater if he doesn't go in the corners, rarely generates scoring chances but if he plays with a talented player he can finish their play. I'm suprised so many people want him on their team.

If he's sheltered properly from the strong opposition he can be very good. That's why with the Habs he was amazing in preseason and in the shootouts but in the regular season he was trash. I often bash MT, but he deserved what he got with the Habs, Weise and Desharnais were more worthy of playing with Pacioretty (can't believe I'm saying this).

While I know he got a fair amount of points with the Leafs, I won't pretend I watched every game he played but wasn't he playing on the top line with JVR and Bozak?

That seems silly. What teams wouldn't want to claim him on a deal that cheap? You could probably stick him on any third line in the league and get 10-15 goals.
If the teams are really thirsty for depth scoring ok, the thing is he's not good defensively.

Wild need competent fourth liners. Carter was waived, they didn't bring Porter to camp,
Schroeder and Graovac didn't impress and were sent down.

Here's the thing though Kev, Capuano is terrible at handling kids. This is the clown who routinely will play a talentless grinder over a more talented kid. Brian F-ing Strait, Bernier, CMac, etc. Who sat? Strome, Lee, de Haan, etc.

While I'm happy they're going with the more talented players, I'm not happy that Capuano is playing them. Remember how he'll bench a kid for 1 mistake for a week, a month, or even longer?

Dual edged sword with Flintstone behind the bench.
