I've been saying this all season about #9 and have taken flack from it. #9 does have some good skills and I won't knock him for that, BUT, I th ink the coaches need to rein him in some or be accountable for his play. Are they encouraging him to play this way? I hope not. He is a better forward than defence. In my opinion he is our worst Dman. Jordon works his butt off and is not afraid to be physical. I just can't put my finger on why the coaches favour #9 as much as they do. Is there some kind of connection to the coaches / ownership?
Hahahaha...the flack wouldn't have come from this cat OSfan. I am the guy you can hear on the regular either groaning in disbelief, yelling his name to "get back" or simply throwing my hands up then over my head to stop me from using expletives from Section H, lol. The frustration I get from one player equals much more than the other 19 combined.

Earlier in the season I posted something similar. An all in season would be exciting to watch. Win or Lose.
The anticipation of what "could be" would create a buzz around town and add some flavor to, what some would consider, a rather bland organization.
Maybe this wasn’t the year to go all in? But listening to DD it does not seem to be what he believes in. The challenge though is that there are different teams that go all in each year so someone will always beat you.

I agree that multiple teams will choose to go all in each season. And it is possible to go all in and lose.
But I also think it would be exciting to watch.
Win or lose......it's always more exciting when you have a horse in the race.

Exactly Bear, it would be exciting to watch! We fans up here don't get to see the Attack advancing past the first round much, so if there was even ONE playoff series win, the momentum that would build for the next season would be phenomenal. Since our OHL championship year in 2011, the Attack have won four playoff series in total. The "at least we get two home games" joke around here isn't a myth, it is fact. While I understand that means bonus money for the owners and it is considered gravy. Imagine, just imagine team owners, having say EIGHT home dates instead of two to corral booze and concession sales in. You know for a fact it would sell out every game with ease, so the ticket sales alone would be around oh, let's say 3200 x $40, to equal a cool $128, 000. That's just ticket sales. I digress, but the buzz and energy playoff runs create, especially in small towns, are what sells this team to the public. Hate to tell ya it's not a Wednesday in November that rattles the cage. it is memorable playoff runs that gets into fans heads. And I love it too, lol. Let's see where we finish tonight, plllllleaaaaasse be London.....

Nice to see the team finish the regular season with a couple of wins. Both Flint and Saginaw were resting key pieces but still a positive momentum swing heading into the playoffs. Votary seems to have knocked the rust off since his return. I thought he was especially sharp Friday night against Sarnia. If he can play like that he should give them a chance.

I think the game against Saginaw might have been Stewart's best with the Attack. Beyond his usual physical brand of hockey I thought he was quite effective in the offensive zone. He had a couple of nice looks and capitalized on a rebound for a key goal. If he can play like that with some regularity he'll see some additional ice time come the post season where his physical play can really wear on the opposition.

I've really noticed some huge strides with Rogers of late. The past couple of weeks he's got a pretty regular turn and played solid minutes. He's starting to skate pucks out and look for plays in the offensive zone, showing a lot of confidence. He was the first man in against Saginaw after Cormier got hit with a blind side too, showing some feistiness in his game. His foot work in the D zone is starting to stand out(I believe DeGray said he had sweet feet when they drafted him) and his positioning and awareness has really come a long way. I think they got a good one in Braedyn Rogers.

Signs of life to end the season. And out of the possible opponents since the team slid out of consideration for the 4/5 matchup, London is the team they've played the tightest this season (the Hockey Night in Canada game excepted). The boys went 3-3 in the regular season against the Knights and won the last matchup in February 7-5. London is also limping into the playoffs a bit too.

It's weird to think of London as the best possible matchup for this team but this year it might be the case. Still have to be considered heavy underdogs though.

Was also great to see the strides the underagers made in the final weeks of the season. Coach finally let them play a little bit and I think there were signs of upside from both Cormier and Rogers. Tersigni had a few good weeks too.

London is a good match up for energy in the building as well. Owen Sound fans always turn it up a notch when London comes to town. Could make a difference for home games.

I watched your game after I watched my Fronts win 10-2 in Oshawa, Wow. I'm still concerned with your dzone and goaltending. A wrister from 10 feet inside the blue line to tie it up???? Is George going to be available? It was nice for you to have Awrence back. Stewart was very effective, saw him go into the corner a couple times w3ith 2 and 3 guys on him and he somehow came out with the puck. I've seen it in Kingston, give this kid some ice and watch his confidence go. You will need his presence and effort in London. I think the small younger guys will be in tough when you start against London. This will be a challenge for you, good luck to your guys.

St Marys Lincolns are starting 2nd round this week after upsetting the favoured London Nationals. My gut feel we've seen the last of George till training camp. On a positive note I don't know if you can tell on tv but the Attack have recently found a new pretty accomplished Power Skating coach. Jackson apparently has really embraced her he fist bumps her all the time and thanks her after every session. It has only been a month or so but I personally see a noticable improvement in his skating. I also notice when he gets regular shifts he plays with more discipline. I think he's a player that if he isn't playing regular thinks he's got to get noticed and to many time you do but for the wrong reasons. When he plays regular he can just do what he does and is a more effective player.

For many reasons game 1 goes to Nick...then see what happens....anyone who thinks different just does not understand
I don't think you're wrong necessarily, but I don't think it's that cut and dry. Neither goalie has really lit the world on fire but I have more concerns with Chenard's play than Votary's at this point in the season. The lack of mobility and puck handling with Chenard hurts. You could start him game one and hope he catches lightning in a bottle to have a post season run like last year but I think it's most likely that both goalies see action.

I don't hate the idea of going with Chenard, the veteran, in a loud and boisterous Bud Gardens to start game 1 though. I think you hope that the experience of last year's playoffs can provide some calming effect to the team.

The thing that drives me crazy in the D-zone is watching the Attack players back into the goalie and try to defend almost exclusively with their sticks. The opposition can come in 1 vs 3 and the Attack sit back and try to get in lanes vs attacking the puck carrier often allowing chances on net that could have been prevented by stepping up to separate the puck from the body. It's not like they have to run the guy over with an big open ice hit or anything but disrupt them enough to force them into a move or a play they don't want to make. They consistently allow too much of a gap to the opposition for them to move in to prime real estate and take a shot.

Looks like they are told to not put pressure until centre ice and then more pressure at blue line. If the opposition gains the red line at the very least they can dump it and go get it. The other thing is I see Dmen at the opposition point, and forwards behind your goal line at times. Confusing

Chenny of old can steal one first game. Then he needs to feel the roar of the Bayshore buzz game three and steal another. If it's tied going back to London, we can make it a series. Yet, there are a lot of factors that must play into that to go that way. We may be selling ourselves short going into this series, but it is playoff hockey and anything can happen. We CAN do this boys, let's get on them early and often. I will say 4-3 in a toss-up to be honest....We need Colby back at the very least and Gav back to make the advantage ours!

You are 100% right it is playoff hockey anything can happen thats why I never make predictions even in regular season it makes you look silly LOL. I do believe that if we are healthy and by now everyone should know what there role is. If EVERYONE does there job effectively I honestly believe the Attack can make some noise. Everyone has to dig deep and want it but it can be done.

I think there's a few key questions for the Attack going into game 1

#1 - Who will eat the tough minutes on the blueline? Last post season Woolley and Chibrikov were tasked with the Othmann matchup and did a pretty good job locking it down. Can a combination of Seed and Jordan fill that role?

#2 - Can the Attack special teams find another level? The PP has been a struggle pretty much all year but seems to have had better results towards the end of the season. The PK was pretty solid for awhile but slipped late, can it rebound? Special teams can often be the difference in a series.

#3 - Can Owen Sound get enough saves? London's D and Goaltending can be stingy. If the Attack fall behind it can be tough to get back into the game. Getting timely saves from the Attack goalie will be needed,

#4 - Is there a "Playoff Fantino" on this year's Attack squad? Can someone unexpected chip in with some key contributions? Owen Sound's big guns will need to produce but secondary contributions would be huge.

I've only really watched your team since the deadline when my favorite Front was sent there, so I might be a bit biased.
I think that your lock down d man is Steen if he is able to play, the other 2 you mentioned seem to be out of position many times. I've never seen a Dman lay down on the ice and lose his stick as much as 24. I think an overall team committment to Dzone is the only way.
This also holds true with your goalies. Limiting shots on these guys is the key, If it were me I'd have your wingers up a step or two higher on their Dmen. They are very active on the blueline and the less room you give them, the better. I'm not too confident in the goalies, they are both big, so I hope everything hits them.
My hope is that Stewart, with the way he has been playing will be allowed to step up and be that playoff surprise. He is physical, not intimidated and can make room for himself and his linemates. He does have to continue to be disciplined as he has been lately.
Good luck to you guys.
