Power and Hughes looks good, but I'll take potential Pietrangelo instead of potential Chabot. Power reminds me of Pietro the most, and his offensive play is a underestimated.

Obviously being secondary helpers they're subtracted from his total and awarded to Hughes

The thing that I remain impressed with is how Power is so often involved in the play everywhere. I catch myself on bad feeds with "oh, hey, that big winger really moves well" and it's Power pinching or joining the rush. And then he's back, in position and breaking things up in his own zone like he wasn't just committed at full speed nearly 200' away.

Hughes, yes, he's going to toss up points because that's what he and his brother's do. He's a fun player to watch in his own right and his offensive skills are evident. But at the moment, does that make him "better" than anyone or just filling a different role?

I was mostly watching Levi, but I noticed that as well when I glanced at the Michigan game. For a big guy he can skate and they let him roam all over the place.

i think he has better hands than petro, but definitely see a comparison there

He's a big ol hoss that they just need to give free rein to when he comes to Buffalo. Let him play to his strengths while getting his feet wet.

The Hughes bit was just because someone was saying Luke was better and should have been #1

Is Power playing the harder minutes or do him and Hughes both play against the other teams top lines? Assuming it might be hard to tell with so many unfamiliar players given it's NCAA.

Hoping Power is the real deal. Since the Sabres didn't intentionally tank for him maybe the hockey gods will smile upon one of their draft picks.

Is Michigan Hughes the better player?
I didn't see this when I watched games. Power looked more reliable defensively, he played hard times and his offensive play was fine. Hughes is probably more dynamic and will probably score more points than Owen in the future, but I'll take Power.

They haven't played one single professional game. They are college kids. And yet they are already being compared relative to their draft positions. This is nuts!

I mean, who cares?! It's so early. I can't wait for the hype once one of them gets, and then later fails to live up to it, only to prove them wrong later on (when nobody notices because they forgot to follow them because there are a dozen other new prospects and players they have to hype, all at the same time)

This

No, well, I'm saying what I saw when I watched the games. I think both of them may well be great players in the future, they are just different.

I wasn't talking about you, just in general. I can already see the hype comments on the prospects page. I think people are hyping up prospects far too early these days.

i think we should start letting rick sniff all of the prospects to find out if they’re the real deal. first on the list is power obviously

welcome to 2021. our entire society has been like this for a while now, at least since the dawn of fb insta and tiktok influencers. we are either so comfortable that it doesn’t matter and we can just be all wrong without any real consequences, or this hubris will totally doom us as a species

He got smoked by Johnson a shift prior to the PSU opening goal. It's the first time I've ever seen him get bodied like that.
