as a whole the 2021 draft will be an outlier when it comes to drafting talent. when it compares to other drafts.
historically most of your top 20 players are very good player. most have a long career in the NHL even if they dont meet their draft pedigree,
You start seeing misses in the draft outside the top 20. There are a couple of decent players drafted in the 2nd round, then a few others in the 2nd-3rd round are what I would call replacement level players who might go 5+ yrs in the NHL but they arent superstars.
After the 2nd round there might be 2-4 true star players per draft.
From year to year the early ranked top 5-7 players dont change much to when they got drafted. You might have 1-3 players who were top 30 might move up to top 12, a couple top 12 might drop. gmerally the top 3-5 stay the same. Power was in top 5 post 2020 draft and he stayed there.
