Or like most rational people he sees him as being unfairly scapegoated.
and how is he exactly being unfairly scapegoated?
Most people will acknowledge that he's extremely talented having several let's call a spade a spade 100 point seasons even though this season is the last season).
most people will acknowledge that when he goes, we're going to struggle because he does a lot on the power play and the penalty kill.
I think it's fair to say that a lot of the goodwill that people generally give was due to Mitch's general behaviour in regards to his contract negotiations. as I remember it was pretty nasty-ish.
i think it is also fair to say that a LOT of people from when they were all rookies that it made sense to trade one (or both) Mitch and Will to get better/same value assets and it and that didn't change when it was evident that Mitch is a hard sign.
I think it's very fair to say that despite all of his regular season success Mitch is poo in the playoffs. reason why he gets a bit more of the heat is probably because he's the one who whinged about getting paid above and beyond, was a hard sign, and then doesn't show up. most players in that situation would get the ire.
mitch will get paid big time becuse of what he does in the regular season. and I think potentially he'll probably do better in the playoffs because he's not around like minded people. and i think most people know that too.
so how he's being scapegoated and unfairly on top of that is a mystery to me
