Cheerleading players isn’t part of his job, his job is to manage the NHL. This is a cool gesture. As Bettman should.

Part of managing the NHL would be to draw as much attention to a record being broken as possible one would think.Cheerleading players isn’t part of his job, his job is to manage the NHL. This is a cool gesture.
So who do you root for? He'll be back against the Leafs:
lol how anticlimactic would it be if 895 is called back due to an offside reviewSomehow and someway, they will call a goalie interference to disallow one of the goals.
I root for OT!So who do you root for?
The one in 09-10 was a suspension. I remember a hit from behind on Brian Campbell.6gms 2009-10
7gms 2020-21
were the "major" ones
OV missed 10gms in 2009-10The one in 09-10 was a suspension. I remember a hit from behind on Brian Campbell.
Although he was a bit chronologically younger then, in the early 10s, he also had a broken leg, part of which he played through against the Rangers in the playoffs. IIRC, it was a hairline fracture from a blocked shot for which he had to wear a boot, at least after the playoffs. He had two points in seven games in that series.I'm rooting for Ovi to break the record but it was annoying to watch many Caps fan effectively say "he's superhuman he will be back in 2 weeks." The guy is nearly 40 and broke his leg. I think anyone paying attention knew he would miss significant time and they literally told you he would be out 4-6 weeks. Pushing for him to return at 4 weeks was laughable given he still has a year on his contract so who cares if he doesn't break it this year?
Also worth mentioning Ovi is not guaranteed to return 1st game after the break. All that was stated is that he will not return before the break. Let the guy heal.
