I don't understand how this team continues to completely abandon the front of the net and not pick up guys on the backcheck at all

Great to get a win and all but that's some ugly ugly defense lately where every single defenseman on the team is messing up and chasing guys and pucks and leaving opposing players alone in front, forwards are literally covering no one at all, just a complete gongshow defensively.

but lol Islanders
They were playing well defensively before the last 2 games and on the other side of the coin 13 goals in 2 games is not too shabby.

I don't know how they won, but holy shit, it's magic! --Afrin guy

Stopped watching after 5-3 but had a feeling they would comeback after the broadcast flashed 3rd most comeback wins in the league.

Still, you're welcome.

LOL WTF happened? I shut this dog off at 5-3 on the Brodzinski ’deflection’….

I gotta seek penance for my lack of faith. Maybe I’ll stand over atmy Metro North spur station tomorrow at 7 AM and sing the goal song😂😂😂😂
Same!

Wasn't a fan of taking out the goalie on both pp's but it worked for Lavy that is why I'm not a head coach and he is.
Yea, Down by 1 with 2:30 left, we are going against the worse PK in the league. Should be able to score without pulling the goalie. Their guy actually just missed the empty net before our goal.

Shesterkin was very good after the 4th goal. I’m not going to blame him for lindgren getting his face smashed in yet again. By the way I’m done with him please trade him at the deadline.

Lafreniere the catalyst. We aren’t in that game with him. The assist on Mika’s goal the powerplay drawn the assist on trochecks goal he stepped up.

The isles don’t recover from this loss

Looks like an event that would have been fun to be at.
Good result but a strange game. The overhead angles did a great job of showing just how bad our defensive coverage was, Islanders players were getting in behind us with ease and finding space in dangerous areas.

Great to see us dig out of a hole yet again, and for all the (often deserved) shot we give them it was good to see Mika and the PP come up big when needed.
Tro was our best forward over 3 periods. The Panarin line was our best line. Cuylle deserves more than 11 mins a game.

I don't know how Drury would pull it off, but IMO we need to rebuild/seriously re-tool the back 6. Almost none of what we have now seems to complement each other that well

Was expecting no goal net off moorings regardless of the rules.
Thankfully it’s one of the few common sense calls that they usually seem to get right. There was a similar one where Andrew Copp scored against Pitt in ‘22 playoffs after the net was dislodged. Also this game was eerily similar to the 6-5 Kevin Klein game against NYI

I can only imagine what the thrill and adrenaline is like for the coaching staff seeing 3 consecutive goals to win it in OT. Must be what stabbing a vietcong with a bayonet in a jungle feels like.

There is an interesting trend here where the goals just roll in whenever one of Trouba or Lindgren exit the game
What's Lindgren's status? If he is out long, that's probably best. The excess fat slowly continues to be trimmed off. I'm more confident in Fox-Gus and Schneider-Jones, that's where we are with Lindgren.

Going to need to trade some talent on the wings for a young defenseman or two. There's nothing in the pipeline either.
