True, but the Leafs have a fan base of 12 million in their local area. Winnipeg has 7ook. Who do you think the news media are going to spend more time with? Theirs is a news business and they cater to the larger group. It's always going to be that way.

It's just like the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins in MLB news, same thing happens there.
Not to mention Winnepeg has been meh to bad forever since they used to be the Thrashers. It takes a while to remove that stigma.

Leafs about to drop to arizona in regulation. They can always fall on the beating to Habs to cheer themselves.

We beat them like 14 times in a row. Until that happens I’m still in thinking of them as “hijos nuestros”

I forget who said it on twitter, but someone commented that Bergevin has built a great D...if it were 2002.

Made me laugh. It’s so ****ing true. :help:

You sure they didn't say 2012? None of our D were even in the NHL in 2002 to make up a good D.

Weber was a junior player in Kelowna in 2002. And everyone else on the D squad were adolescents or younger.

2012: Weber, Alzner & Petry are playing in their primes. Weber as a #1, Alzner as #2 and Petry as #3 is a solid top 3.

Still,
Schlemko is a part-time D in Phoenix.
Benn is still in the AHL.
Morrow & Davidson are in the WHL.
Mete is 14 years old.

So it still only works for the top 3. However, it would be a solid 3 on D in 2012. 2002 makes no sense.

If we could've added them to Markov & Subban, it would've been a Championship D for sure.

The Caps not looking that good this season either. I think they really miss Alzner and should trade with the Habs to get him back. :)

Lol, I'm not sure it was meant literally
