Anze ''The Average Center'' Kopitar extends his point streak to 8 games, now with 21 points in 17 games. In other news, John Tavares has 13 goals.

@Lafleurs Guy
Thanks for the call out. :laugh:

We would be no further ahead with Kopitar and wouldn't have gone as far as we have over the years. It's fine to call out Price on his crappy play now (he's been bad) but Kopitar is exensive himself. 12 goals and 50 points last year, he'd have been ripped apart on these boards and we'd have gone no further.

Secondly, you seem to think he'd have been successful here. That's not a sure thing either. Galchenyuk should've been successful here too. He was almost a point a game player in his first season and has always produced when at center. If Kopitar comes here, he might've failed under Therrien as well. Remember, we had DD to contend with.

Their careers aren't over and there's a lot of hockey to be played. If Price falls off a cliff, then sure I'll be happy to say Kopitar would've been better for us. But even then I'd still question what would happen with him here. It's very possible he'd just have become another Galchenyuk here.

Kopitar played great while winning the 014 Cup. Also won one in 012. Had a bad season in 017 (as did entire team with top goalie out) So far both Habs and Kings did great with thses first round picks. Kopitar being the better pick.....so far. IMO

Hated the Weber trade but he's been more productive than I expected he would. That shot is killer.
Its been a wash.

Both guys have played well for their new teams.

Although most every Preds fan at the time of the deal thought PK was better than he is.

You can be torn on Kopi vs Price (I'm not, take the center) but when you consider they drafted Quick in the second round while we drafted Lats, I think LA came out ahead in the 2005 draft.

Quick/Kopi>>Price/Lats

25% of the way through the season, some interesting projections (pro ratings)

Stammer is on pace for 151 points (35 in 19 so far)
Kucherov is on pace for 73 goals and 142 points (17/33 in 19)
Johnny Hockey has 29 points on the year in 19 games (125 point pace)

Tampa bay is on pace for a 138 point season and to score 332 goals (4.05 per game)

PK still looks rattled from his back injury to me.. Well he's playing so I'm probably wrong but he sure doesn't seems as much of a game changer as he did here. Having Josi on the same team probably doesn't help his case.(Even if it should, IMO)

Blah. He looked good last playoffs. But you're right, he doesn't look all that impressive from what I've seen and his decision making and dare I say compete level has been questionable this season.
