Remember Radulov started the season slow in the first four games, and people said that the Habs dodged a bullet?

Meanwhile, the Stars are a .500 team, with an equal number of wins and losses. Unfortunately for them they are playing in Hockey's strongest division.

Dallas is 1-5 vs Central division while Montreal is 2-3

Radulov is also nearly a point per game player.

Also:

Radulov also said Montreal was in the mix for his services right until the end, with Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin offering to match the Stars’ offer.

“It was too late, though,” the 31-year-old added.

Bergevin had insisted after losing Radulov that he had put an equitable five-year offer for him on the table prior to the opening of free agency.

...

Radulov also said that the five-year offer he was waiting for from Bergevin had come in December, when he was unprepared to sign anything, and that it had involved different salary figures than the ones he eventually settled on with Dallas.

The Radulov re-signing thing will never be adequately settled, but the attempts to entirely absolve Bergevin seem flimsy.

Remember when Jordie Benn was 'easily' a top four defenseman? And Alzner was a 'shut down top pairing D man for the President's Trophy Capitals' and we had to 'wait and see'?
There was also the "Radulov will be a distant memory by November" and he has looked so much better than Drouin since the season started. And the "Byron can definetly score 20 goals again" while Galchenyuk gets laughed at for a "lucky" 30 goal season.

I don't see how you can give Bergevin the benefit of the doubt here given his history of lying and generally being stupid and stubborn.

Thanks Marc Bergevin. Thanks for paying me 5.75 mill to audition for the rest of the league because you were to stubborn to sign me for two years. I couldn't have done it without you.

if i remember correctly, Benn was always seen as a 3rd pairing D that if needed could fill a second and 1st pairing spot temporarely, dont recall anybody in the habs organisation sayin otherwise

as for Azner, my take on this is we still have to wait and see, he and Petry plays are so bad right now that i can't believe it's gonna stay that bad, but i could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time

Scenario 1 - Phillip Danault
Scenario 2 - Sidney Crosby

1 - Duchene
2 - Turris.

Turris is a better defensive player. Duchene, more of an offensive catalyst.

So really depends on what you need. Personally, I'm a fan of having 1 offensive top 6 center, and 1 defensive top 6 center.

So if you have a good offensive center to begin with, then Turris opens up that center to get better zone starts and favourable matchups.

And the opppsite for Duchene.

Remember when Markov used to make those ridiculous passes on the tape to any number of slapshot happy Ds?

I bet you Weber remembers it really well when he plays with Benn.

Broeser is real good.

The Canucks might have a much quicker turnaround than I first expected.

Even Juolevi appears to be doing good in Europe after a disappointing D+1 season. For their sake, though, another high pick this year could really tie it all together. They made a lot of progress, but making the playoffs this year probably wouldn't be ideal if we're talking long term.

If Petersson lives up to the hype, and so far it's looking like he will, you'll have two exciting players to watch live.
That's true, getting tired of watching the 2 old farts in the Sedins. They aren't good anymore. Also, if the Habs don't win the lottery the Canucks better win it. I want to see Dahlin live.
