Necas will aim for Suzuki+ money. JK's contract will have no effect on it. It's a one year contract and the cost will be a low end of first round pick which is not a great value. Our fan base need to stop being salty about it. The only cost of this signing will be the pocket of Carolina's owner.

Of course it will have an effect on it. KK's a direct comparable. Young player, coming off an ELC. Suzuki is also a comparable, so he's going to want somewhere in the $6.2m-$7.75m that Suzuki/Svechnikov got.

He definitely will argue for more than KK, which is higher than both Teravainen and Staal.

I'm not salty about it just saying it was a revenge signing, which it was.

I didn't realize that either.

This team moved from Cranbrook BC, which is situated around the Rocky Mountains, so I assume the logo has to do with a mythical yeti type of creature.

I'm not sure it suits Winnipeg though.

I actually like it, BTW.

Its called a Sasquatch.

Or samsquanch? (TPB reference)

Both the yeti and sasquatch are mythical creatures but the reason I said it looks like a yeti to me is because it looks like a cold climate creature.

Whether they intended to make it a sasquatch instead, I don't know... But I'm just going off the way it looks.

Yeah, Yeti is white haired, Sasquatch is brown haired, iirc.

MB is not this kind of man. If you're not a dog you're nothing.

True. But MB likely won't be back next year. If he was coming back, he would have signed an extension in the offseason, I think - or at least I hope.

KK in two games with Carolina with 0 pts, -1 and 11:58 TOI so far. Does anyone know why his TOI is so low? 4th line?

They already have 4 centers, and he's not a winger. Some centers just aren't wingers. It remains to be seen how good of a center he'll be, but he ain't no winger.

That and because the offer sheet was just to try to screw the Canadiens and not to actually land KK, is why, predictably, he's not a fit in Carolina and his ice time is so low.

We were told he was supposed to play with Aho and Necas.

yeah that was idiocy on toast from the beginning.

We Hab fans have seen him on the wing. We should have known that starting with Aho and Necas was going to be short lived.

I'm not ready to throw the towel in on him.

But MB pretty much said in the presser announcing he wouldn't match, that they have their doubts about how much more KK would develop. Given they're working with him every day, that is concerning.

If KK doesn't develop more, it will be Habs' fault like what happened with Galchy, Tinordi, Beaulieu, McCarron, etc.... :sarcasm:

Galchy and Tinordi were made for the old NHL - pre enforcement of the hooking to the hands penalties. The game opened up and those with mediocre skating went by the way side.

MacCarron was a mistake to draft for need from the get go.

Beaulieu has all the tools, but never had a toolbox.
