Agree. Will Gorton revert to his old self and turn a blinf eye to that?
Interesting question. Eddy just got traded and he was our 2nd most capable fighter.

The more ice time Reaves gets against us, the better. Bertuzzi's no different than Bunting in terms of being a pest. Bertuzzi's just far more disciplined. Domi didn't strike much fear in opponents when he was here. He isn't Tie Domi.

I'd certainly like to see more toughness as well but I really don't know how much of a priority it should be for a handful of games vs Reaves and Lucic. Both didn't fight much last year. Jeannot fights a lot more than them.

I mean...this is a big part of Arber's job. He got tuned pretty good by Deslauriers last year but fared well in all his other fights other than a bad luck injury vs Deharnais. Arber's still young though and isn't yet at his peak physical strength. Pezzetta will fight anyone but he is certainly no match for the Reaves, Jeannot's and Deslauriers of the league.

Probably Lucic and Reaves don’t fight much since most teams have no one that can fight them. And they are non factor on the ice. Pointless to make them into a factor by sending anyone to fight them. Hoping Xhekaj doesn’t get into pointless fights this year.

Goonery is cyclical in the NHL.

10 years ago we had Zderno Chara, Colton Orr, Milan Lucic, Frazer McLaren, Derek Boogard, John Scott, Chris Pronger, etc among our rivals, Habs has Scott Gomez which led to them drafting Tinordi and McCarron.

Goonery is clearly coming back. The Habs should just add a decent 4th liner to protect a young team and move forward, rather than ignore the problem and subsequently overreact.

Ive been saying this too. It won't take long for fans to clamor for someone like this. Might as well do it now.

Goonery is back? The Leafs and Boston just signed two tough guys on their last legs in the nhl.

and are there any options on the market ? I would like to get Deslaurier instead of Armia , but I don't think he is available.

I also think we should try to protect our players, we only have Mr.X and I don't want to see him injured because of some goons in the division.

gotta protect our young talent with more than just Arbur, or we will have another injury riddled season. Fans want to watch Cole all year, and Slaf.. not more injuries

I don't think it is. The game's too fast. Check out the PIMs for Reaves and Lucic last year. They're barely 0.5 per game. Lucic has made tens of millions in his career and he isn't going to fight younger guys every other night at $1m per season.

Refs started getting instructed to call more instigator penalties mid-way through this past season.

Obviously it's important to have toughness and I'd like to see us pick up another player with muscle but not at the expense of wasting a roster spot on a policeman who can't play. Just ignore the meatheads and then they have no value.

I would grab Nylander for 9, with the amount of Culture in the room we need a selfish player ;d and he is the only one during the playoffs where he looked really good more consistently than the others.
