HF Habs: Out Of Town Thread: 2026 Play-off edition

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
It's Dobson situation all over again. Robertson is pricing himself out of Dallas and will get to choose who he signs with regardless of trade protection.
Pretty much but this was about LeBrun talking to an agent about a player putting Montreal on list he would be willing to be traded to, and Robertson as an RFA has no such lost.

Here we go with expansion news

From the second tweet, it sounds like it's not the Houston Rockets' owner, otherwise it would be Houston without any second thought. Dan Friedkin was reported last year to be interested in bringing the NHL in Houston.

I’m not a fan of this at all. I think 32 teams is the right amount. 4 divisions of 8 teams, half make the playoffs and now with an 84 game season each team plays their division opponent 4 times, conference opponent 3 times, and non-conference opponent 2 times. Add in it further lessens the talent per team.

Obviously this is a business decision to put more money in owners pockets but I don’t think it’s best for the league.

There’s barely enough players to fill 6 competitive teams, but sure let’s add more.
Parity wasn't even bad at 30. Currently stretched thinner than a cheap Italian restaurant pizza owned by a guy who hits on teenage employees.

I mean Tkachuk kept saying he didn't want to be traded and that the constant rumours were a distraction for him & the team.

The attitude definitely changed after the Olympic Gold win.

Garrioch is reporting that Tkachuk has been telling his teammates for the past 4 years he had no intention of resigning. If that’s the case I would assume Senators management knew about that and, if they did, they really missed the boat not trading him before his NMC kicked in.

What tf is happening in 'berta?

One team hire f***ing Bad Cock and the other team can't help themself and make a stupid f***ing Trade, for no reasons

Imagine how hard it will be for teams to get a 2C with 34 teams! There are already teams in the watered down NHL that don't have any star players.

I think Winnipeg with Chevy is very a competent front office. Chevy is definitely top 10 gm in the league if not higher

He lost Ehlers for nothing, gave 7M to Neal Pionk. Took 7 years to realize Logan Stanley sucks. 0 heir to Hallebyuck Millic is 6ft lol. Lucius, Lambert, McGroarty(yager) Boumedinne & Barlow are all busts. Horrible GM

Nemec sucks?

I wondered if it was Jason Robertson. Lebrun talked a lot about Robertson in that same segment and it had me wondering if he's been talking to his agent.
Ottawa trying to acquire Robertson. Reportedly could go up to 15 million. Just knocks our pay structure out of whack.

With Suzuki, Hutson among others locked up long term reasonable. We should come into quite an advantage in coming years.

Hughes new contract, Makar also be in 15 million range.
