He does actually look impressive this year when I’ve watched. Confident, stronger, a little faster, more economical in his movement which is obviously so important for a guy of his age and style.
This is exactly what is going on.
JT is far more dangerous when he's moving quicker.
Like him or not the hands were never in question.

Or they could be making Tampa more fat and happy during the holiday season.

I feel like this time of the year comes with the most randomness.... add in the fact it's another matinee too which can throw things off too.
Yup this and playing the last 10 games or of the season or so when teams have clinched.
It gets even more random once they are locked into a certain slot.

Chychrun playing like how he did with the Yotes. I absolutely loved the player in Arizona but he was a worse Matheson with the Sens. Awesome year for him now.
Washington is just such a well run organization. You get the feeling they've been coached by the same guy for 20 years. Even if their style is more direct and conservative now.

lmao why is Deboer flexing power abuse?

According to Article 16.5 (b) of the NHL's collective bargaining agreement, "December 24, Christmas Day and December 26 shall be off-days for all purposes, including travel, and no Club may request a Player's consent to practice on such days for any reason."

Stars head coach Pete DeBoer told reporters on Friday morning that he was "at the rink yesterday. We had an optional, and of course the young guys all show up for the optional like, you know, they're supposed to do."

There has to be something more to this than an ultra talented player being this bad for 7 straight games.
Yeah… he’s a cherry picker and only knows how to play in 1-of-3 zones or as his coach so eloquently put it a couple of yrs back “doesn’t understand the game of hockey”

big team. They've become what the Bruins were for several years. Several big, skill guys in the top 6 with solid D and goaltending. They just grind. Cycle and puck to the point for screens and greasy rebounds

Exactly.

Julien tried to bring that to Montreal on his second stint, but Bergevin thought that building a team around an actual identity was only for PS4.
