Their D is awful. Way worse than last year. They're also a lot softer. It's not the same team.

I wouldn't count them out so easily. Early season can be misleading. The same D that played shit for the first 18 games last season was the same D that brought them to the finals.
The Pacific Division has the most GA in the league for a few years now. Which is not that fun for the East, because that means most of the top scorers will be from the teams that play those pacific teams the most.

It's not the same D as last year. That team is soft at both ends, too. They're lucky the Pacific is such crap. They don't make the playoffs this year in any other division.
They're taking a step back this year. They've already given up 15 goals in 3 games! And, are already -12 on the season.

you already said that. It doesn't change the fact 12 months ago you would've said the same thing about their D. How bad it was.
Which is exactly on par with what happened last year. You're acting as if we haven't gone through this before.

The team last year was struggling to start, but was still good & had depth. McDavid was injured to start. This team is just bad. I don't believe they're doing anything good this year. They need a top 4RD badly & some jam upfront. They're older, slower & softer.

They have no goaltending. No team can survive with a goalie at .846. Georgiev has been just awful.
Doesn't help that Lehkonen is always hurt. Nikoshin is a dumbass and Landeskog had his career stalled by a freak accident. They lack serious depth at forward. There's not much behind MacKinnon, Rantanen & Mittlestadt right now.

They have exactly zero cap space. Nuke is unsuspended next year and their current 6 mil cap is relief from his suspension. Even worse is they can't really clear cap since it's tied up entirely in their top 6 and top 4. They don't have any Gallagher type contracts. They basically have to ride it out and hope for a big cap jump this offseason.
Opening night of NHL Season - viewership down and there were more viewers for a WMBA playoff game.
Agree with his comment that people (I for one) and not going to watch if the games are on 10 different platforms. And that they MUST stop regional restrictions.
