I heard a rumor that the NHL held something called a Global Series in Sweden over the past few days which included 4 of it's teams but I haven't seen it confirmed. :sarcasm:

Great job promoting that and making it easily available for hockey fans to watch NHL. Bravo..

Hopefully when the dinosaurs currently running the NHL finally step aside the league will look to finally make the move to try and catch up with the other pro leagues in North America to make games more available to watch and to finally move into this century. It's the NHL though so who am I trying to kid.
Werent the games technically regional games too? At least in Canada.

I haven't followed Columbus much, but they tried him at center, he got injured (concussion) and now apparently he's a lazy bum and he's getting health scratched. That's quite the year and not even 20 games into the season.

Also, he's probably not fully recovered from his concussion...
I wonder if he needs a fresh start, Columbus hasnt been great while he's been there and there's been a lot of shifting around with coaches.

Moving him to center seemed like an idiotic idea to begin with......Mickey Mouse organization.

Yes both Leafs games were only available in the Leafs region in Canada I believe. Their 1st game vs Detroit was on TSN4 I believe and this mornings game was on Sportsnet Ontario. I guess the rest of Canada needed the Center Ice package or some other hockey package to watch legally. :dunno:

My view on Lucic was made up after the Max Pacioretty incident. Max had just been taken out on a stretcher and intead of showing sympathy for what happened and this team, all Lucic wanted was stir shit up and intimidate and started a fight. At really the least appropriate time. He's as nasty and classless as they come. That was all I needed to know about this guy.

Sharks schooled St Louis 5-1 and the Hoff scores 2 goals. NHL is so hard to predict.

Yep. I had a fallacy in my head as a kid that when the habs beat a really good team like Philly, that it meant they are as good as Philly and things will turn around.

The fact of the matter is that it's hard to sweep any team in the nhl no matter how bad they are, and every dog has its day.

I think Nucks are pretenders.
Will come down to earth eventually

They had to. Unless the expectation was that they were going to sweep the nhl awards show.

I had the Canucks slated to be a playoff bubble team this year, and these early banked points should go a long way to secure their spot on the right side of the bubble.

I can tell you though that there is a buzz in the city again and that was lost for about a decade, so that's fun.

Hopefully it doesn't take the Habs as long to get it together.

Man the Flyers are in an absolutely sorry state. I know they have MIchkov in tow and Gauthier but they absolutely need to try and trade players away for some more future.

I wonder if Couturier or Atkinson could be traded away.

It's probably time to start maybe shopping Konecny too. Wasting away good prime years of very good players.

Maybe selling high on Sanheim.

It's a gamble though, because if Michkov comes in next year or the other one after, they could be competitive reallllllllly quick, especially if gauthier pans out as a top 6er.

They're semi-decent this year. They're in a wild card spot.

Which means they can't get a good pick. Their roster isn't anywhere near good enough to win until Michkov gets here, if he pans out and it's probably going to be too old when he gets here, unless he comes early.

I'm sure Briere will make some trades. Konecny only has another year on his contract, for instance.

But, they do have some guys who'll be around for awhile: York, Farabee, Tippett, Brink, Forester & Zamula. Couturier & Sanheim will be around as veteran players too, since both have long ass contracts.

I think they still get a top 10 pick this year. NJD, Pittsburgh, & NYI maybe Detroit & Ottawa should all eventually pass them.

It's mostly Couturier, Sanheim, Konecny, Laughton and Atkinson.

I see them as kinda part of the "old" group that was competing before, and they did trade away Provorov, who's in the same age group as those Hart, Sanheim and Konecny.

Of course Atkinson and Laughton are afterthoughts, but Couturier, Konecny and Sanheim are legitimately good players, but are they going to be good in 2026 ? My moneys on Sanheim still having a few years but the other two being completely broken down, à la Gallagher.

Aside from the fluke run the Habs did... Would they be in a better spot had they moved Gallagher, Danault, Petry and Weber ? Imagine that SIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Of course we had Price in 2020, which is much different, they don't have a superstar like that.

I see Columbus scratching Laine. I really wished MSL would do the same with guys like Anderson.
You can't compare Anderson and Laine as far as effort is concerned. Laine is already not a fast player...the guy can be insanely lazy. Anderson isn't. He's just...not a good hockey player to have on a top 6.

Laine is not putting in effort that’s not the case w Anderson as much as many love to hate him - he’s simply snake bit.

Against VGK Habs done score two goals without Andersons effort - IMO he’s going to break out and get back on his 22-25G seasonal prorated career trend
