First off, I have to say farewell to the habs

..and it's good we won't have to watch the diving habs again until next season

Now that my habs farewell is out of the way, I'll be pulling for Taylor Hall to get his first SC ring, but I also like Torts

..so I'm just hoping for a good back n forth series that goes at least 6 games

I'm gonna take Vegas in 6

Tipped Carolina in 5, and here we are. Did not tip Vegas, but not surprised by it either. The sweep was shocking, but not the mere fact of them making it through. Bring on the finals!

Got no gut feel for this one at all. Both teams are in great form and healthy. Can talk about different strengths and potential weaknesses but end of the day it's line ball as to which team is ultimately better. Seems that way on paper anyway. I think it goes 7, and the VGK just sneaks home on the back of most of their squad already knowing how to get it done on the big stage, and Hart staying solid. Could easily go the other way though.

I argued with people during the sabres habs series that rooting for the habs in that round was better. It worked out exactly how I wanted. (minus vegas)

Sabres looked like frauds again (good chance they are never really a better team than this year) and the habs got embarrassed

Same as you ~ both teams finished with bad tastes in mouth for sure

Your summary is excellent ~ it’s hopefully 6 or 7

Two different EVERYTHINGS

Style, coaches, built

The one I’m looking forward to - glad both are healthy

The Vegas third line has Hertl & Stone all you need to know

Vegas second pair : Hanifin & Andersson I’ll be watching closely

I’ve come to a realization. I rooted hard against the Canadiens not just because they’re the Canadiens, but because that series was an outlet for my rage over the current state of our beloved Boston Bruins.

The Habs have been expunged, but I’m still angry. Do I pour my emotion into rooting for Mitch Marner to win the Cup and drive some salt in the wounds of Maple Leafs fans? Or, do I root for Taylor Hall, who was a fantastic Bruin the entire time he was here? It really is a no-lose situation for me.

Of course, when the dust settles, the Bruins will still be a mess and no closer to winning the Cup, but hopefully we can all have a few laughs together over the next week and a half before reality sets back in.

I like the Canes.

Lots to check out in the finals:

Marner playing very well. Conn Smythe candidate if Vegas wins…..would be amazing to see Dangle and the Leaf lovers & Canadian media meltdown over it whether they will admit it or not.

Taylor Hall winning a Cup would be awesome. I think he has really matured vs the kid that was a star in Edmonton but had to bounce around a bit. Loved him as a Bruin.

Torts coming in late in the year and then winning a Cup…..might change what happens to good teams late in the season going forward that think a coaching change puts them over the top. Him taking over in Vegas late wasn’t the same as when Julien got canned in NJ long time ago. Teams could think twice about firing their coach with 15-20 games left if they think it puts them over the top for a Cup.

Should be a good physical series too. I just hope the refs let them play

I had the Avs vs the Canes in the finals at the start of the playoffs……this final will be even better with Vegas in there.

I'm looking forward to this. Both teams have been really fun to watch. It's a clash of two different styles/systems. I've been a Vegas fan ever since Cassidy went there so I guess I'll be rooting for them. I was definitely rooting for them to beat Colorado (which I had been a fan of since Bourque went there but have hated ever since I saw MacKinnon bitch slap Charlie Coyle on the bench). I guess I'm just rooting for 7 great games.

I’d really like to see Taylor Hall get the Stanley Cup he should have had in 2023.

Hall and Marner are the players ill be cheering for. Hall because I like him, and Marner because of the shit Toronto put him through.

I still think what if the bruins drafted Hall, he got to mature under Bergy and Chara... Edmonton wasn't exactly a team to help young players back then.
