Wow, haven't check in on them much this year...what a disaster so far.

Huska's comment on Huberdeau and Kadri are pretty cringe.

“I want more from the team. I’m not going to go at those two,” Huska said. “If you’re expecting those two guys to win games for us, it’s not going to happen. We’ll be waiting for that for a long period of time. The way this team will win games is when they’re competitive, and they skate, and they play hard.”

I get what he's trying to get across, that they need to win as a team, but it also tells you he ain't relying on those two guys to be at the front pulling the bus. Almost feel sorry for the Flames fans, almost.

I actually believe the trade f***ed with Huberdeau’s head. There’s no question. This is a guy who for much of his career struggled to even make the playoffs - then the team he was emotionally invested in finally turned the corner, won a President’s Trophy in a year where he put up monster numbers offensively, and out of nowhere he is traded to Calgary. He then proceeds to have a bad season and misses the playoffs all while his old team goes on an epic Stanley Cup run with everyone gushing over the new acquisition Tkachuk along the way.

With that said, I think Huby will recover, but it may take a little more time.

Not terribly impressed by the Devils so far today. Where was this goaltending when we played the Wild?

It's 6 minutes into the first period and I'm going to have to disagree with the notion that the Flames have showed up at the game.

How bad is your view? I saw some pics from the crowd earlier and it seems so hard to see anything
It is — was really f***ing hard to see anything. We were in the outdoor football field, up in the second deck. Ironically, the second deck had a better view because much lower and you couldn’t see shit over the boards really. At least up high you could see all the action. Lower bowl you probably couldn’t see shit cause of how far in the field the actual rink is.

Not to mention jamming 55,000 people on Edmontons city LRT system has probably for sure given me COVID. Ass to ankles people.

My toes also went numb by 2nd period, after which they brought out Nickelback for more punishment.

6/10 stars. Saw Elliot Friedman point blank though doing the broadcast.

On the other hand we should count our blessings Calgary looks historically bad, that could be us. If we lose to them this year we should give our heads a shake. 0 structure to what seemed like a zone defense??? Just play man like we do. Had two 5 on 3s that were putrid.

All joking aside, any chance that Huberdeau and Zito can patch things up and we can get him back at 50% retained?

Not sure why ppl are still longing for Huby because by now it is evident that Huby was a significant factor for the Panthers not winning big games in the playoffs. Huby is a freeloader who was just padding his stats at the expense of the Panthers. Good riddance even tho it took a long time for this org to figure it out.

Was just checking to see if you're still around. :)

No, in all seriousness, as I posted in the main board thread, I don't think I'd want Huberdeau back even at 50%. Calgary would have to send draft capital with him.

As much as I hate to say it, I think he was shipped out of town for reasons beyond those related to salary demands outweighing his impact. I think there were probably big locker room issues, and I do still believe the strip club story.

Looking at the Flames right now, oh boy. Oh boy. No, you can take a victory lap on this one.

ofc I'll be around, there's plenty of "I told you so" 's in the backlog that needs to be cleared.

But honestly, why on earth Zito would be interested in Huby even if he had no history with the Panthers to begin with? It feels to me as if Huby's fans are living in alternative universe where they gladly accept 1st round exits in the playoffs if they get to witness a handful of hail mary passes from him.

He's on pace for 45pts. That buyout cap hit is going to be delicious.

I think Kadri has been worse from what I've seen of the Flames (admittedly only 2 games this season), but his contract isn't as bad, so he's got that going for him.

I've been watching Flamesnation pod for a few episodes now and those guys are genuinely confused how Huberdeau ever was a PPG forward. One guy even said that he wouldn't give more than a PTO for Huberdeau at this point lol. It's really bad. Even at 50% that deal is way too long to take back.
