I find Chychrun to be redundant. He fulfils a similar role as Chabot, but Chabot is better, and signed for much longer. Chychrun should be replaced in the offseason with another Zub-type: defense first right shooting defenseman.

Minnesota has recovered from their poor start, and looks good. Lets say they want to go for it this year and next year, which they should. They need more scoring from forwards and defense to be a true contender. They have a great young goalie locked up in Gustavson. Perhaps Wallstadt is surplus, and is exactly what the Sens need going forward to go with their young developing core.

How could a trade-deadline deal that sends Tarasenko (UFA) and Chychrun to the Wild, and Wallstadt + to the Sens be constructed? What would the + be?

I don't know why rebuilding teams and cup window teams don't pair up
all the top prospects and picks go to the rebuilding club and the good current players go to the cup window team

Goaltender is your priority, I guess.
Good young goalie of the future (Swayman includes present too). Boston probably doesn't want to trade Swayman as they are in win now mode, and probably like having 2 great options, but who knows? I think the Sens are more likely to get a Wallstadt type in a deal with a team trying to win. Of course, this is just me, I have no clue what management wants to do.

I don't think Swayman, will be moved, could be wrong but I think mostly it would be Ullmark, although I wanted earlier in the season that they trade Ullmark not because he is not good but, because they needed cap relief, but to be honest at this time they are so dependent on their goaltenders, they might be smart to keep both.

The Senators need a new coach but the core might very well need change as well. too many bffs who don't bring out the best in each other and at this point are probably pissed at each other.

So if the coach is replaced and the team still plays amatuer hockey there will be trades made.

only untouchables would be

Stutzle
Greig
Pinto
Sanderson
Zub

which leaves from the core

Brady
Chabot
Norris
Chychrun
Batherson

team needs are:

heavy top 4 rd
a major shakeup (brady for rantanen type)
I'm thinking Zub that you should lose your main board privileges for suggesting that Tkachuk is movable

I think the Sens will try to add some better fits through free agency this year. Let Tarasenko go for a more gritty two way middle 6er.

If the defense doesn't shape up, the big trade witll be one of Chabot or Chychrun.

Chychrun is better offensively than Chabot IMO.
