Nice job Pazzy rewarding Boqvist for his strong defensive play by putting him out there to close out the game.

Last ten mins were really solid for us. They didn't have anything going offensively til they pulled Korpi

Elvis was the better goalie tonight facing more rubber but the Jackets also had better defensive details and won the battle in front of the net. This is a Pascal Vincent type of win.

Now we just need Vincent to realize how good Voronkov has been. It's his first game at center so I get why he maybe didn't trust him as much. But he won half his draws, scored a goal, was a big handful. He should be playing 16 minutes not 9!

*raises hand*

I had no doubt he could return to form.

I had massive doubts, not gonna lie. I knew he was good but thought the Kivi death had worked him over too much.

I don't know what happened, but rationally thinking it makes sense to introduce a calm, introverted, positional coach and put Elvis under such supervision. He's a great goalie, he needed focus. NB was never known for crazy acrobatics or showmanship, he was just a steady top 5-10 in save percentage because his positioning and calmness.

Elvis is a great goalie, he showed that early on. Just needed a real pro to reel him back in

We were all robbed of the post game thebus rant about Korpi being better than Elvis. Maybe next time. :sarcasm:

He might just blow his lid because Laine also was fine. No outlets of steam

(I agree with bus that Korpi is better than Elvis)

Send some love to Justin Danforth for that, he was a beast down low and in the crease in this game and that gave a lot of room for Fantilli and Laine to wheel.

Vincent only had them out there for a few draws, still almost all on the fly starts, but Danforth won 2 of the 3 and he's been winning so many draws that I would trust him to take care of it.

The Gaudreau - Jenner - KJ line didn't do much. I don't think I like that composition. But it's also good to give them some time to figure it out.

I understand the need to watch a 5-5 game. But on what basis did Jenner's line get so many minutes and Voronkov's and Fantilli's lines didn't? Laine needs to finally start shooting.

Voronkov is great.

Ottawa seem to start just stirring shit when they are losing. Just had the +160pim game when Panthers whooped them
If I were getting my ass beat by the Blue Jackets, I’d be pissed too. LOL

Penalty kill (too much of it) robbed that line of ice time.

You're right. But at the same time, note how many fights Laine won next the boards, his work on the Fantilli goal.
