There is absolutely no way there were that many people there yesterday. Maybe half that.

Attendance is very very concerning this year. Was quite good last year...

It's kinda sad, but anyone who's been in Ottawa long enough (and seen franchises come and go) had to know this was coming. Ottawa supports hockey and winners, so if you're running a franchise that isn't the Senators or 67's you better be winning.

We are totally falling behind the general league trend this year unfortunately. Attendance/sponsorship/broadcasting across the NASL is way up this year. We're way down (other than more games on TV).

Not good news and with Hamilton likely entering the league in the coming years, we might even fall off as the cornerstone Canadian NASL franchise...

As a whole the league is not way up the avg attendance has been boosted by some big crowds for a few games.

Attendance is paid tickets not people at the game not just for Nasl but for every league in North America attendance is not that concerning yet.

That's the same for every city in Canada look at how bad support has been for Toronto fc and Impact the last couple year thousands of empty seats look at the Jays I could go on and on.

A few big crowds?

Every team in the league is averaging at least 4000 with the exceptions of Atlanta, Edmonton, and Ottawa.

Every team's had at least three home games now too.

The league's average attendance as of today is 6,444. Last year it was 5,401, and there were more 'specialty stadium games' in 2014 than this season.

The league's average attendance IS up. Teams like Tampa, Minny, and FTL are all dumping bucketloads of money into their marketing efforts and squads, and it's showing.

Minny's attendance is way up from last year. As is Tampa's. As is FTL's.

Look at the last few weeks - aside from Edmonton, everybody is drawing substantially more than Ottawa.

You need to actually purchase a ticket for them (which costs $0) for it to count. They get a lanyard to show that they are eligible for the free ticket, but you need to take action for them to actually get into the game. Presumably their $0 tickets are counted into attendance when they are purchased.

You also need to pick up the lanyard; I assume that the 25,000 number is the number that is eligible not necessarily those that have been collected.

We've used it once this year and should be good for quite a few games.

It will be interesting to see if the Women's World Cup has any impact on attendance. Will it spur interest in soccer and bump attendance later in the summer, or will people get their fill of soccer through the WWC and avoid the Fury? Will the amount people are paying for their stadium passports come out of the same budget as they would use for the Fury?

I would guess that the WWC will have zero impact on future Fury attendance.

I'm sure the club will not be allowed to promote itself during the event.

Need to grab some WWC tickets soon. Hope I can make one group day and one round of 16 match.

That's an understatement. LOL

FIFA are ridiculous when it comes to branding, I worked at the U20 World Cup a few years ago and it was nuts the stuff they were doing. Anyone who had a pepsi shirt had to turn it inside out or their ticket was invalidated. Same with a host of other brands, it was pretty comical actually.

I'm not exaggerating when I say FIFA is literally worse than Rogers. :headache:
