Ottawa 67s 2024-25 Season Thread, Part II

What does it say about Cameron if the rumours are true that players are activating NTC not to come here. This is a rebuilding team young guys should be jumping through hoops to get to a team where they can shine.

OOPS think I answered my own question sophmores and rookies don't get to shine here.
Brady Stonehouse from the interview on the radio pregame interview tonight appears to very pleased to be a Peterborough Pete.

The Petes is a good fit for him without a lot of pressure. he can play offence and enjoy himself while getting ready to go back to the Pro ranks at the end of the season

The calm before the storm!

I feel like at least three players will be moved today, which along with the Stonehouse deal would make for their largest deadline sell off in at least ten years.

If Dever is coming back next year, you should make him the Captain. Let him start now as to assistants I t depends on who is around next year
There can be only one! In his later years, Kilrea made co-captains and one always went on the trading block. A dressing room has one leader and even those who would prefer another be chosen will fall into line. If there are two, then the bitching and moaning will never end. Better to have none than two.

Let’s see if it is Blonda or a boat load of picks.

My guess is Chitaroni is involved with maybe another young guy and picks

Doubt they’d give up Blonda and Ottawa already has alphabet who plays the same way as Blonda, same age and late birthday too so same draft.

Sudbury is paying for a one-year rental. I expect that the NCAA will come calling, but that will be complicated, with scholarship limits and team makeup dynamics. I doubt that money is an issue with the NCAA, but why pay when you can get it free?

Trades will still be annouced after 12:00. If say 10% chance Pinelli is still in OTT.
I would say 95% pinelli had a list of 3 teams he would report to in the end I’m hearing it made more to sense to keep him, so much for players hating Ottawa kid wouldn’t leave

Really disappointing. There’s something to be said for retaining your negotiating power and negotiating perception for the future, but it seems like Boyd just waited too long on this one and couldn’t get an deal across the finish line. Maybe the asking price was too high, or he wasn’t flexible in terms of the total package of picks and players. Why not take the picks in-hand if the youngsters wouldn’t waive their NTCs?

No Foster or Dever deals either.

Just brutal. Fireable offense imho.

Did we make other deals? Why on Earth would you not trade Pinelli? Even a picks only deal would be fine. You take those picks and deal them in the summer for a player or two.

It would be pretty rich if we were to find out a picks only deal was on the table for Pinelli. Especially when Boyd WILL NOT trade roster players at the deadline in buyer moves and insists on only trading picks. LAME.

That's it? We got essentially nothing for our two best assets? This year is basically already over so there was no point in keeping Pinelli but you can't lose him in April for nothing now.

I was expecting a good start to our rebuild. This sets us back 2 years from being genuinely competitive. I mean how do we jump-start our rebuild? With this trade deadline fiasco the answer is we don't. And there's nothing to trade next year.

Look at the bright side. We will be a highly competitive 8th place team! Good chance we finish around 13th in the league and get the 8th pick…. 10th if there are two expansion teams.
