The challenge with this plan can be argued in three letters: F L U. Also, you cannot play with just 6 D.

Anyone we get cheap will be exactly that I would rather say Horner stays defence and we bring up one of the young guys to play wing or keep Stonehouse and waive Gerrior so that we have the RW person to replace Horner. At xmas bring up Perrier to see how he is doing.

Bring up Bonomo around Xmas and put him with Mayich.
It would leave us with

Dietsch Esh
Marelli Brady
Mayich Bonomo

If these rumblings are all true, then there will be quite a few dominos that need to drop. We may be getting pretty far ahead of ourselves trying to address the finer points of th lineup without knowing who will be moved out and what will be moved in. I doubt Boyd would move bodies for picks only.

I agree that Boyd will be looking for a body BUT if a GM is not wiling to give up a good body or defender for Mews will that hold up his trade.

It's interesting that Musty is still on the market. That tells me that GM's may not be all excited about getting problem children

Obviously, if we can get an experienced D, then that is great, but I still think with the lack of players that, bringing BONOMO up may not be a bad idea.

If you consider Dietsch and Brady rookies because of their lack of overall experience, then adding another rookie d-Man on top of Eshkawkogan may not be the best idea.

I haven’t scanned the market but it usually isn’t’ that difficult to get a #6 D-Man from a team that has excess. We flipped Ewles to Flint last year at the deadline for a 3rd and 4th and Ewles was an 18 year old. I’d look for that kind of deal.

If can see that but I am also looking at depth we really cannot go with just 6 d plus Horner. If we bring up Bonomo and give him some minutes playing with Mayich and Mayich playing with whoever they can find, depending on the person's ability. If we're rebuilding, then I would look at protecting our 3-4-round picks for at least the next 2 years.

The worst virus in the CHL is draftitis. It comes in the form of a player thinking he made it and has no worries. We have seen some great talent blow themselves in the head Kingston has had a few Hughes moon ottawa has had them also bell.and now mews. Usually a good coach can wake them up unfortunately DC does not have mews respect.

I would love to see him traded to the Pete's or a different team not playoff bound.
Definitely way too early to say Mews has draftitis lol. Still has a respectable 4 points on the year with a team he doesn’t want to be on.

If he lets say only gets 30 or 40 points by the end of the year I’ll agree but we’re not even 10 games in

Again, this conversation is way too early. Who is to say Mews doesn’t go to Kingston in a deal for picks plus Velliaris and Moore… or to Brantford for picks plus Chen and Radley…. Or Sudbury for picks plus Ewles and Jackson... each of those deals has two D-Men? We just don’t know. Loads of variables. Why try to figure this out now?

Just wait for the trade and see what the return is first. No sense square pegging a round hole when you don’t have the square peg in hand yet.

Musty may have warts but he still is a 2pts per game player with exceptional talent. He needs the right coaching, which I can argue is back in Sudbury.
Our GM is not going to give him away for pennie’s on the dollar. He is welcomed back at anytime, but if this was truly my “go for it year” I’d be getting this player.
Without hesitation.

I agree my comment was not a bad one it was just I am surprised that no deal has been made

We kick off a tough stretch of games between tonight and Dec 1. That is a stretch of 18 games or just over a quarter of the season.

For those that feel the 67’s have a chance to do something this year, this stretch will likely determine whether Boyd will make any real investments in this club to help it win this year. For those that feel this should be a seller season, I think this next stretch will more than likley unveil the 67’s for the team they are.

I think this is a team that will have a very tough time maintaining a solid enough record to keep pace with the Conference leaders. Some of those teams have stumbled a bit out of the gate (Oshawa more specifically) but once those teams get their players back from injury and/or NHL, I believe they will start to turn up the heat on the conference. By Dec 1, I think we will have a strong sense of the landscape in the Conference. At minimum we will have seen enough games to suggest a path for the 67’s to follow.

My prediction is the 67’s will remain hovering around .500 by the end of games on Dec 1. Position in the standings? 7th.

Still no Körbler. Something more serious maybe?
Nelson starting, Dietsch in as 7th defenseman.

Korbler & Kelly are out with concussions
Crap. Horrible. That's half of the RW's gone. Means the 67's are down to 11 forwards even when using Horner up front. Far from ideal. They're also no rookies anymore so depth is really gonna suffer. Sucks especially for Kelly who actually showed some promise so far this season.

Kelly got rocked pretty hard last game. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is why he is out.

67’s VERY fortunate to come out with a point tonight. Badly outplayed for long stretches of this game.

Too many undisciplined and/or stupid penalties.

Among the other stories in this loss is the continued theme of selfish penalties putting us down. Our PK is still brutal and we are giving up chances by taking penalties that could easily be avoided. Mews in particular was a penalty machine tonight, and it looked like he was benched towards the end of the third and in overtime. I’d be interested to know if there was any injury at play or if DC just got sick of Mews taking stick penalties nonstop…

Time for Mews to be on the move.

It really does look that way.

I was also shocked to see Brady finished -1 since I don’t remember seeing him on the ice at all. Dietsch and Sirman were getting all the third pairing shifts together. Once Mews was benched they had Sirman and Marrelli together as well. Do they publish ice time stats anywhere?

Brady coughed up the puck and then made a lazy attempt to get back into the play and cover his man on the first goal leaving Galianov alone in front to make the good move on Nelson. Really poor play on his part. It is one thing to give up the puck in a bad spot. It is quite another to not pick up your man by not continuing to stride toward the player.

Dietsch on the ice for three goals (two on the PP). Yanni and Houben getting a ton of PK time. I’m not sure what the deal is but Yanni, and Dietsch on the ice of a 4-3 game killing a late penalty….

I don’t think Amidovski saw the ice after the 1st period either.
