Yes. It has been a while since the NOOF. I joined here when the NOOF took its final death knell. Looks like that was Sept 2013 based on my registration date on this site.
I remember the OOF. I think it was hosted out of Queens University. The memory is vague from back in the Usenet days.

We all know DC was not able to help Mews, so it will be interesting to see how he does with Ekberg.

Pinelli Ekberg Foster should be the first line

I fully agree about that Ekberg/Pinelli should be a duo going forward but I don't know about Foster playing his off side. Also, adding Foster to that already dangerous duo may be unnecessary front loading. Gotta spread the wealth, have more than just one topline. Ekberg/Pinelli would primarily need somebody to cover them defensively and dig out pucks for them. Therefore, Foster might be a waste in this role. Körbler could do it but I want to see him with Dever personally. That leaves Kelly or Horner as my preferred options to round out that topline. I guess the 67's don't have the ideal winger for that duo on their current roster but I think Kelly/Horner are the best they have to offer for now.

I would think possiblyHOrner BUT does he have teh speed. Also one of the things that the scouts are looking for is Ekberg to play both ends of the ice and improve defensively. Being on a line that makes him do so might be what he needs.

I also do not see Pinellli here after the deadline so having foster means the first line still is in good shape

Hilton Dever Horner
Whitehead Yanni Korbler
Barlas Anidovski Kelly
Houben

Gerrior in the stands until Dietsch gets back or Sirman gets released. Iknow that it would be better to play him BUT we need defence more than we need him

Korbler on the 3rd line? Over DC’s rotting dead corpse maybe! :P

It doesn’t bother me folks. Everyone has their own flavour and I know for some people, I am not a flavour they like. It is what it is. No harm, no foul. Thanks for the support. It won’t stop me from providing my own analysis of a situation. Sometimes it takes more words to push through it and sometimes it takes less.

For those of you that weren’t around on the NOOF, the “OMG” stands for “One Man Gang.” I think that pretty much tells you that I don’t care if people take pot shots on the Internet. Growing up in sport, I have taken much worse…in person! And, I did my fair share of handing it out as well.
Your input/insight/opinion is always welcome on Wolves Board..

I’m trying to stay off the Wolves Board right now because I have NO CLUE what they should do. They are likely good enough and have enough picks to add but I am not sure they are good enough to contend if they add. They are so much on a fence right now, I think I will respectfully sit back and watch!

Horner Dever and Hilton give us some size for a line

I like the Yanni Whitehead Korbler line for possibly later this year post-deadline and next year.
How on Earth are Yanni and Whitehead first line players on this team? Korbler only plays 1st line. He’s our #1RW. If you don’t believe me, ask DC. He will tell you.

Not a chance they are first line this year or probably next year.

This year
1 Pinelli Ekberg Foster
2. Hilton Dever horner
3 Yanni Whitehead Korbler
4 Barlas Amidovski Kelly

Where it gets scarey is next year

We can keep 3 OA forwards to start the season out of
Foster
Barlas
Horner
Dever

Next year

Hilton or Yanni Ekberg Foster
Hilton Yanni Whitehead Korbler
Perrier Amidovski Horner
Barlas Dever draft picks

Part of me goes back to the 92/93 team, where we bring in players just to fill positions . Do you remember Mike Gamble ? That might be the best way to finish the season. It would allow us to trade away players and open the log jam we have so we can bring in young players next year.

I expect that Amidovski will exert himself and push his way to the front of the line sometime this year. His limited action so far indicates that he is a possession type player who would anchor any line. Ekberg is a gunner who can score from anywhere. Foster finds openings.

Körbler? I keep waiting to see what the deal is. In Oshawa, he had uncontested possession of the puck behind Oshawa's net, on the PP (of course), and he fired a backhand pass towards the point and a non-existent teammate and out. Just an out-and-out giveaway. He seems to panic at the worst times. Maybe the high hockey IQ types see something that I don't and that is entirely possible. I keep hoping.

The point is folks that no matter the situation, DC finds a way to end up with Korbler on line #1. Any discussion of potential lines without Korbler as the #1RW is useless. We can rant and rave all we want about what lines should be but the fact remains that pretty much since the beginning of February last year (with the exception of a handful of games), Korbler has been #1RW. No one has joined this team as a RW that would unseat him as #1RW. We are two games into the season and Korbler lines up as #1RW. It doesn’t matter if he has zero’s across the board.

Unless the Ottawa 67’s make a trade and bring in a RW that is better than Korbler, he will be #1RW. I don’t see them adding a player capable of scoring 15 goals and 15 assists off the right side of the 1st line so Korbler will score around 10 goals and 15 assists on the season from the right side as the #1 guy and we will need to be happy about that.

Gerrior will not be sitting out games.
We have already seen that either MacK or Sirman (as predicted by OMG) will be the OAs rotating being out depending on whether MacK is the starting goalie or not

If I had to guess, MacK will start on Saturday with Horner moving back to defence at home and Nelson will start on Sunday in Kingston. Conway is likely to back him up so Sirman can play.

Next weekend we have the two home games so I am not sure what they will do there. But the following weekend is a Southern Ontario road trip to Niagara and Brampton. You gotta think Nelson will start one of those games with Conway as the backup.

The following weekend is the Northern Road trip. I imagine they’d get Conway to join them for that full trip.

That takes us to the end of October. You gotta think there will be some sort of OA resolution by then. We will be close to having Stonehouse potentially reassigned off injury around that time. They can’t have five guys as OA’s, only four.

If Stonehouse is reassigned and Sirman released/traded, at that point I could see a Gerrior and Stonehouse rotation until a trade were to happen.
