The challenge that I think is out there with Donoso may not be anything Ottawa can control. At the start of the season, it was what is North Bay going to do with Devincentis. That is still the question. The issue I think in part is that their are not many teams looking to add an overage goaltender. London did and was able to obtain Michael Simpson who was the playoff MVP and Erie traded for Ben Gaudreau who played in the World Juniors. I do not think that fact that he is a backup this season is a factor in no interest as he was the starter on the first overall team in the the OHL last year. It just is the lack of interest in overage goaltenders.

I think Donos will get moved it is just a matter of when. As to backup goalie, I think depending on the team we can get a backup to replace him I do not think Nelson who looks to be the heir apparent for next year should be brought up.
I'd keep an eye on SSM too, 67s could end up with Landon Miller in return. I really do believe Hounds are watching him closely right now.Saginaw may be a landing spot for MacK and the 67's end up holding onto Donoso.
Looking forward to tonight's rematch.
To who? How many teams have OA spots left? If those teams needed a goalie and didn't open up an OA spot for Simpson or Gaudreau, are they really going to for Donoso?
I can see Ottawa moving Mackenzie if they don't feel like they will challenge for a championship, as the return would be better, no?

I think the last two games versus Guelph are indicative of how the season has/will go.
If the 67s stick to their system, do not have any major defensive break downs (like they did in Guelph), get solid goaltending, stay disciplined and continue to be efficient on PP and PK, they will will a lot more than their share of games.
I Continue to be impressed with both rookies Whitehead and Brady.
Brady is calm, poised, smart and has that 67s level of compete.
Whitehead has showed some serious skating and speed.
Good to see Kelly back in the lineup. He displayed some skill, but needs to work on moving the puck better.
I agree with has been said earlier in this thread about Marrelli. He will become the anchor of this defensive unit as the season goes on. I think his NHL draft grades will also trend up as the season goes along.
Is Uronen injured?
I do not see Uronene coming back next year. He is eligible for the AHL or to play in LIga next year, so if he does not make the Knights, then I would think he will play in a men's league.I think the 67’s should look to move CK plus maybe a pick or Smyth or Horner for a D that can play this year & next. Unfortunately we don’t have the ice time available that he may deserve I think we look like this
Pinelli-Gardiner-Foster
Stoney-Lawrence (OA)-Uronen
Gerrior-_____(OA)-Dever
whitehead-Barlas-Korbler
Hilton
Mayich-Mews
Marelli-______ (CK Trade)
Sirman- Ewles
Brady
Look to move Smyth, Horner & CK
Next Season
Pinelli-Gardiner-Foster
Gerrior (OA)- Barlas-Uronen
(08 1st)- Whitehead-Dever
Hilton-Yani-Korbler
Mayich (OA)- Mews
Marelli-_____ (CK trade)
Brady- Ewles
Dietch
Mackenzie (OA)
Nelson
(Move Sirman in the off-season)

There is no way that Kordler is going to come back if he is going to be a 3rd 4th line player. It makes no sense.
I am not sure that Barlas
Gerrior (OA)-Gardiner-Foster
Barlas-Pinelli-Kelly
Hilton- Whitehead-Dever
-Yani-
Draft picks x2
Euro
Mayich (OA)- Mews
Marelli-euro pick
Dietch- Ewles
Horner Sirman
Mackenzie (OA)
Nelson
As stated, I do not see either Euro returning. If Uronen comes back, he will move up but I think we will draft 2 other players
Also if a Euro Center is drafted then Pinelli can move to wing at that stage.
This is based on the players that we have there is, of course, the supposition that 2 draft picks from the next OHL draft will make the team.
There is also the possibility that a young D could be drafted and make the team.
The other thing that will make changes is who the other teams want and Stonehouse
The fact that Uronen is not doing great is a reason for him to go back to Europe and play in Europe if he is not going to be going higher, ala Rohrer. No matter what, if he can make money playing in Europe at home, he may choose that route instead of languishing here in the OHLCurrently, Uronen is a half a point per game player in the OHL. He has not asserted himself in any significant way at this level. Nothing about his game suggests he is ready to play in a Professional league next season. Assuming he is going to turn pro at this stage is not realistic. He would have to make a very significant jump to make that happen.
I agree about Korbler though. I think if the 67’s have a player n their list that they feel confident about, it is more likely they use their Import pick and replace him.
A good 2 wins weekend for the 67s. Kept their goals-against low and goals-for high. And the young defence is rounding into form. Horner showed some lovely meanness in hitting players, and Brady is displaying some jump and poise playing with Mayich. Even Caden Kelly got into a scrap (he lost but showed up) and got booted for mouthing the ref (both not what we want him doing too much of).
The only worry is the number of shots against. 40+ is too many even with Mack walling the net.
Our forward lines seem to have solidified into 2 good units:
Pinelli-Gardiner-Gerrior
Stonehouse-Lawrence-Uronen/Dever
Hmmm...I've misplaced Foster, he's playing well too.
No news on Mews...?
Look at that - put some high end talent (Pinelli) on Gardiner’s wing and both of them start going offensively. I thought both guys had tremendous games, including Gardiner with two nice stretch passes to Pinelli for breakaways.
Lawrence has really been a great pickup for the 67s. He's been a consistent presence all over the ice, wins faceoffs, and his size makes him difficult to play against. I've always liked Gerrior, he has great skating and shooting ability (and is our best forward PKer) and finds a way to use those skills to take over a shift or two each period.
I thought Hilton was superb yesterday, creating some good looks for himself and showing a quick release on his hard shot. Whitehead was all over the ice yesterday. Both guys had their best games in the OHL.
Forward depth is looking good.
MacKenzie was elite, as usual.
Anyone notice some of the Barrie players jawing at each other? Sale and another player were going at it near the boards during a failed Barrie power play.
