From OHL Media notes.

Windsor trades F Jacob Maillet to Ottawa for four draft selections (North Bay’s 3rd in 2024, Ottawa’s 5th in 2025, Ottawa’s 2nd in 2027 and Ottawa’s 3rd in 2027).

Finally!

Still no bodies going out.

Gotta think some roster trimming will be done.

Really happy we went for Maillet instead of Peer. One he's a center, two he's bigger and we need some size.
Center position went from weakness to strenght.
Now are we done? We still have two seconds and a third. Import upgrade anyone? As OMG said I also see a few minor deals shipping out players.

I was hoping for Peer so we’d go out and get more of a grinder 3rd centre. Put Gerrior and Barlas with him!

But, we needed the centre. So, the priority is solved. All the priority positions are now filled.

Can we snag a 3rd pairing D-Man to play with Sirman? Can we snag a bigger winger for the 3rd line? Can we thin out the defence a bit and regain some picks?

Still some lifting left to do. Maybe not as heavy as what’s been done but work still remains!

What has happened today

— Ottawa trades F Kaleb Lawrence to London for London’s 8th in 2026.

Windsor trades F Jacob Maillet to Ottawa for four draft selections (North Bay’s 3rd in 2024, Ottawa’s 5th in 2025, Ottawa’s 2nd in 2027 and Ottawa’s 3rd in 2027).

— Windsor trades G Ian Michelone to Ottawa for Ottawa’s 12th in 2026.

— Windsor claims G Max Donoso off OHL waivers from Ottawa.

Looking at our picks I doubt Boyd wants to part with the Nia-2 in 25 as with the shit show there it will be like another first rounder. He kept the Nia-2 last year at all cost which yielded whitehead. However our erie-3 23 and the Lon- 2 27 could be used along with some tradable bodies ( Korbler, Hilton, Kelly, Ewles, Horner, Smyth, Sirman) to get a few more pieces.

On another note Saginaw finally moving acquiring Beck and Donovan. Very good as we want them to win the west.

I think it is more likely at this point that he thins out the roster a bit, grabs a couple picks and MAYBE flips them for a body or two.

Saginaw get Sens pick Jorion Donovan for 8 picks, 2-2nds ,4-3rds and 2 4ths

How many cards do we have left. I suspect Yanni, Nelson, Dietsch and Hueben are on B cards. So by my count 3 goalies, 9D, 14 forwards. So i 'm thinking we have four left?

Four.

One may end up going to Yanni. I doubt any others will be used on affiliate players.

Quite a turnover here. Bringing back Kanata's Michelone and L'Orignal's Mayer is a good thing. The defence and goaltending needed some steadying influences, even with a backup. Hopefully, more offence from Kressler and Maillet. Lawrence came in and gave us a presence right away, so he was appreciated. At least Donoso's situation was resolved. Can Cameron use these guys effectively? I guess we shall see.

I’d still like Boyd to upgrade at least one Import (Korbler) in order to add a physical winger to the middle 6, but if we stopped adding here I wouldn’t complain too much. Boyd has done a good job improving the OAs. We’ll see what happens when he thins out the roster a little over the next day and a half.

I am super happy that Donoso and Lawrence are still playing. I was worried they wouldn’t find a spot (more so Donoso).

I’m not looking at this so much as an improvement in offence or defence. I am looking at it from the perspective that we now should not have guys playing roles their game is not suited for. To me, that is the biggest thing. That lays the foundation for the team to play better organically and not struggle so much playing out of position or elevated agaisnt players they aren’t capable playing against. No more really bad line mismatches! No more D Pairings that don’t make any sense!

hopefully MacKenzie is back soon but It would be good to see Michelone get some games early and feel like a full member of the team from the start! Big roadie this weekend. Not ideal for on ice performance but will be great for team bonding!

They may not be done yet but Boyd has done what I had hoped he’d do at a minimum. I am happy about that.

Anyone have an update of our draft picks

Two 2nds, one 3rd and one 4th I think. Plus some 5ths….

Courtesy of the Draft Pick Database kept up to date by Generals Updates…. I added the Flint 5th in 2024. Pretty sure that is valid.

EDIT:

If the rumoured Mayich deal does become official, the 67’s wouLD receive the ERIE 2nd 2024, and SAG 2nd in 2026. Plus an extra 3rd and 4th. the two 2nd rounders are the only two Kitchener has so they have to be the ones.

Oddly enough, one of my main targets is Misiak from Erie. I assume if Erie is selling, they’d like their 2nd back this year which would be a very early pick. It would have loads of value. Crossing fingers.

Still would need to replace Mayich with a top pair D-Man.

All I have to say is it looks like Boyd is living up to his true reputation! And by true reputation, I mean the guy that traded in Killer’s skates at Play it Again Sports at the end of the season and bought a bottle of Rye! Classic Boyd story! How can you not love that guy?

That would have been 29 years ago! Time flies…

According to draft picks, we do not have a 2nd 4th or 6th this year right now correct

So we are counting on our 2 1st round to be impact and our 3rd round to be a starter.

With the amount of players returning it’s not like we have a lot of roster spots open next year anyways

Misiak to Ottawa for picks makes so much sense. So...won't happen.
