Ostapchuk and a first seems like a light return. Zetterlund will provide the Senators with a ton of offense.

I really don't think the Sens have up a 1st.

At best, the 2nd they just got from Buffalo, and possibly an additional 2nd.

My shopping list for Sens was a 3rd line winger, and a depth LD. Zetterlund and Gilbert.

We'll see how the Norris - Cozens part works out. It's a gamble for both teams. He upgrades the Sens' 5 on 5 offense (27-18 this season), but Norris produces more on the PP and SH. Will be interesting.

No Zetterlund without that trade, as $800K was freed up from Norris - Cozens.

Edit: whoa, it only cost them Ostapchuk? I like him, he can develop into a decent checker, is big and strong, but has no offensive upside, saw him as a future good 4th line centre. What were the Sharks thinking?

Edit 2: Ok, the final deal makes more sense, but still a win for OTT. I still like it. Basically Zetterlund and a 4th for Ostapchuk and a 2nd.

Ostapchuk is a good player, not as skilled as Zetterlund, but a high energy and gritty player. He's been in and out of the lineup in Ottawa but will probably be a constant fixture in San Jose and will be all the better for it.
