Thats not answering my question. Naming 2-3 players doesn't mean anything.

It's like "Edmonton is better than Florida because McDavid and draisaitl"

How about you list their top 12F in order, their top 6 D in order, and their 2 goalies in order. I would not be surprised if more of the ">" benefited Ottawa.
Pasta-Bergeron-Marchand-McAvoy would all be the best player on Ottawa. Ottawas goaltending is putrid and is nothing compared to Boston. Bostons defense is way better. Both teams top 6 is comparable assuming Kessel comes and Krejic returns back to form. Bottom 6 for me is in Bostons favour.

Sens are picking the wrong year to try to make that next step. One more year i nthe top 10 of the draft would have been huge considering the quality in 2023. I feel like Talbot, Giroux, Weeger, Debrincat etc will only push this team to potential wild card status.

Yeah the Sens should have stayed put and made none of these moves.......

What a terrible, terrible opinion.

Tavares gets sheltered playing behind Matthews and at $11 million he is supposed to be a difference maker not a good second line center.

I disagree. When has Tavares ever put up numbers much different than he currently is? This is about what he’s always been his entire career. He just looks worse because he’s playing behind Matthews in his prime who’s scoring almost every game.

Tavares plays with players who have worse stats than him, so it’s hard for him to put up significantly higher numbers also.

I think I can speak for all Sens fans and say. We don’t care about the draft anymore. We want playoff hockey.

That's fair, and it's likely coming. I just don't think you guys can knock off 1 of the 8 from this year and also hold off the other vying teams to grab a card. Maybe Washington will struggle with the Kuemper gamble, or maybe Toronto's goaltending will be terrible and you can overcome one of those 2. The other 6 feel like locks.

Toronto had the worst goaltending in the league since December.. and they finished 4th in the NHL.

Sleeping on Stutzle or how good other players like Chabot, Tkachuk Batherson and Norris are. Sens are fast and deep up front. Don't see how Bostons goaltending is any better.

Ok so I'll do Ottawa's roster, and you can do Boston's...because Boston's depth is severely lacking. The fact you give the edge to Boston for forward depth/bottom 6 is funny

We'll start with forwards.

1) Debrincat
2) Tkachuk
3) Stutzle
4) Batherson
5) Norris
6) Giroux
7) Brown
8) Formenton
9) Pinto
10) Joseph
11) Watson
12) gambrells/kastelic/Kelly

Do Boston's and we'll compare.

That Pinto and Joseph would become Ottawa's 9th/10th best forward is insane. Boston doesn't have that depth.

They're better on D currently unless the Sens snag a top 4 RD. Then give me the Sens there as well with Chabot/Sanderson on the left.

Does he get paid like the player he was the last 3 seasons in Philly, or like the PPG+ player he was in 18 games with the highest scoring team in the league? Or somewhere in between.

Either way, would be a quality UFA pickup for Ottawa.

Have you seen the amount of young talent they have?

They have franchise/elite talent in all the most important positions outside of the net

People will be skeptical of Ottawa's youth until they can't be. Which is fair. When stutzle puts up 90 points the skepticism will recede a bit.

They do, but I think that talent will need some time to get comfortable. Anyways, we will see how it all goes. Maybe they can pick off one of Toronto, Boston, Pitt or Washington. I don't think they will be able to catch Florida, NYR, Carolina or Tampa.

They have their core, so instead of trying to be Buffalo you want to teach them winning and changing culture

Of course. I think many of us having been told to "watch out for the pesky Sens, this might be their year" for 3 years now. During the COVID Cup, people had them potentially finishing 2nd, and the hype was real. We're all just waiting to see if they can actually take that potential and turn it into wins. Tough division, not many easy wins.
