Lots of surprises early on in the AFL. I gather no one here watches it,but it's fast and nonstop action.
I heard that there are a bunch of new rules introduced the last few seasons,what are they?Baseball's back!

Pitch clock is probably the biggest one and the most noticeable. You now see countdown in seconds from one pitch to another. The others I know of are larger bases and limitations on defensive shifts (thanks Tampa!).

Is there also a pitch count? Can you still step out of the batters box?Larger bases I get,but limiting shift,crazy! how is that applied? I played short and shifted to my how I knew it would play out,can't do that now,sucks.lol.
Is it more exciting that actual football?lol.

Imagine having a decade + of prime Guerrero and prime Pedro.
What's happening in Toronto is giving me expos fever. But this city doesn't give two craps about anything other than habs.
Sadly, starting pitchers are going by the wayside of running backs in the NFL. Shelf life seems to be about 3-5 truly effective years! Long for the days of the workhorse, Gibson, Drysdale, Lolich, Katt, Koufax,et Al!

He started very young, so he does have a lot of mileage on his arm. Not much of a fastball too, so his pitch count was usually fairly high. He'll probably hang around for a while, you can always use a lefty in the pen to eat a few innings. His days as a starter are over though.
