Woke up early to catch the second half of this game and was disappointed to find TOR down big, but, boy, did this get fun.

10-6 Jays!

Romano is making it a sphincter tightening experience.

FML, tie game.

Boy, this team is fun!

Another later comeback from behind to tie it up in the 9th and walk it off in the 10th.

Scary offensive lineup.

Very strong start by Berrios. He's been wildly inconsistent and hasn't really worked out for the Jays so far, so let's see if this will last as the game goes on.

Springer HR!

Lots of surprises early on in the AFL. I gather no one here watches it,but it's fast and nonstop action.

I heard that there are a bunch of new rules introduced the last few seasons, what are they?
Pitch clock is probably the biggest one and the most noticeable. You now see countdown in seconds from one pitch to another. The others I know of are larger bases and limitations on defensive shifts (thanks Tampa!).

Never thought I’d see this happen to someone who was so highly regarded not so long ago and still only 33:

Is there also a pitch count? Can you still step out of the batters box?Larger bases I get,but limiting shift, crazy! how is that applied? I played short and shifted to my how I knew it would play out, can't do that now,sucks.lol.

1 day before the NFL draft !

Who is watching it tomorrow ?
Is it more exciting that actual football?lol.

Sadly, I'm abroad for work again and didn't get a chance to watch it. Only kept in touch with what NYG did.

:(

Check out this phone call by the Falcons to Bergeron — it’s straight out of the movie Draft Day. So surreal:

Sadly, starting pitchers are going by the wayside of running backs in the NFL. Shelf life seems to be about 3-5 truly effective years! Long for the days of the workhorse, Gibson, Drysdale, Lolich, Katt, Koufax,et Al!

He started very young, so he does have a lot of mileage on his arm. Not much of a fastball too, so his pitch count was usually fairly high. He'll probably hang around for a while, you can always use a lefty in the pen to eat a few innings. His days as a starter are over though.
