Zero chance Young is near 6'... dude is barely 5'10" if that.
I think Van Dyke could surprise a lot of people, but I'd guess he will stay in another year. Richardson has every bit of talent you could possibly want, but super inexperienced... could be like Allen who took a couple seasons to really get going, but has immense upside.
We will find out the measureables on Young come the combine. He probably doesn’t work out there but will at least be measured for height and rift and hand size and the like. I do feel like he probably ends up under 6 feet.
Richardson of florida this is his first year as the starter. Prior to this season he had only 66 passing attempts.
I always feel that a QB is best served to get 2 years as the starter so around 25 starts to increase the chances of success in the nfl. With what qbs get paid, if successful you are staring at over $100 mill guaranteed on your second contract.
Unless you are a top pick like Mayfield and Darnold who had their 5th year options picked up as the first and third picks and this will make around $50 mill after 5 seasons, I think getting the reps in at college will help you long term. The most recent one and done as ncaa starters who got picked early in the draft are guys like trubisky, Haskins, Sanchez who all could have gone back to school and should have. I’d say the same for Trey Lance. Even Fields, due to the half Covid year might have been better served to return and been OSU starter last season. But on a bad offensive team like chicago hard to judge.
Mac Jones did well in his only year as a starter. But an older guy who was in the program and couldn’t rely on just his physical ability and has a lower ceiling.
