I just can't see anyway something doesn't happen soon. You've lost to two bad teams, your new 248M franchise QB is completely lost, and you have fans walking out of the stadium rather than watching OT.

Panthers fired their coach today after going 1-4. Have to think that Hackett is next if (when) we lose to the Chargers next game.

Question is, would we trade an asset for Sean Payton? Would he want to come in 5 games into the season?
I can't see why not. The Defense has been really, really good and is being wasted with this atrocious offense. I don't think he'd have a hard time designing something that is at least better than what Hackett's got going on right now. It would be something completely different if other teams were scoring at will.
Panthers fired their coach after going 11-27. He was there for two previous seasons. A coach getting fired after only 6 games in their entire tenure is very, very rare. Maybe Walton has zero patience and since Hackett was not hired under his watch it can happen. 🤷‍♂️
Right but at the same time, they kept bringing in QBs that failed elsewhere in Darnold and Mayfield. I don't think the pressure is quite the same as when you consider what the Broncos gave up for Wilson and his new contract.

I cant see the Broncos beating the Chargers next Monday with Hackett calling the plays.

I don’t think they’ll bag Hackett. It’s been 5 games.

And as @Hasbro said, the draft picks are sunk cost at this point.

If in fact this team is unsalvageable, they’re better served spending the rest of the season revamping the offensive game plan, fixing Wilson as best they can, and then looking at upcoming FAs and exercising whatever #AssetManagement they can.

If Wilson can’t be salvaged, Sean Payton is not going to matter.

It doesn't help that Tim Patrick was lost before the season started. I think we're seeing just how critical that guy is to this offense. He's so much more reliable than Jeudy, and much more willing to engage physically with defenders.

Jeudy is also seemingly hurt every week with something that's nagging. It's easy to defend the Broncos when all you have to do is double Sutton and dare Jeudy/TE's/RB's to beat you.

The Saints want a first for Sean Payton per Schefter
Yeah I doubt they get that but maybe a 2nd if they give up a 4th sort of deal, I could see happen if a team gets desperate enough.

Seems like he'd be the right guy that would know a thing or two about working with a 5'11" QB...

Guys have been open, and not just KJ in the end zone either. I’m not about to start defending Jeudy but he gets open. Russ hasn’t been finding people

Saints don’t have a first this draft so anyone that offers one up that’s likely what they prefer. Vs wait for it. Denver doesn’t even have their 2nd this season anyways either.

Payton would want someone he trusts like he did with Mickey Loomis as aGM. He doesn’t want the personnel duties but needs someone he trusts. Thus for Dallas, not sure if the Jones family would give that up. That’s the power Payton can wield in negotiations.

See what this lat injury is with Wilson. But it seems like he wants to play from the pocket to prove something as opposed to playing the way that made him successful. Outside the pocket.

Going from whatever the f*** it was last year to seeing KCP and Bruce Brown guarding on the perimeter has been a blessing

Makes me miss Gary a little bit less

The new contract doesn't kick in for two seasons, I think they'll be in a different place by then. Maybe with this coach, maybe with another. Russ making bad decisions because its a new offense with new players is a bit understandable and I think it all gets back to the lack of preparation in preseason. As bad as it was, they were adding stuff in the last game. More deep balls. A couple of screens that killed it. More runs out of the shotgun when it made sense to. I think this coach came in with his offensive guys and thought Rodgers could do all this stuff, Russ can do it too. Maybe he can, but not the first five games. The bonehead endgame strategy does piss me off because its stuff a high school student could figure out. Plus in the middle of the game I hate that they huddle all the time. Run some tempo, if guys are getting open you can get them open with a simple formation that you practice. They get some big play and then its like ok lets stop and see what we do next. No! Just go at a defense you beat down the field with more of the same. I do think at some point this all gets figured out but it is tough with a first year guy that wasn't even calling plays last year.

And if the fans walk out, so what? They paid for tickets and they probably will show up for the next game. That hot take over fans walking out is just dumb. Its like someone is leaving a party early because they aren't having fun. Yeah it happens, that game was not entertaining and it was "late". If the fans were saying we ain't ever buying tickets to this again it matters. I don't think that was the story.

Wow CU fans storm they field because they won a game in OT??? Talk about low expectations.

Clemson fans storm the field after every game, do they have low expectations?
Goodness Clemson has things to celebrate. CU celebrating not going winless this year is sad, sorry it just is. They won in OT against a mediocre team.

Passing on Allen may be the greatest "what if" in Broncos fandom history
Or we could say what if we took Fields? Or what if Allen had a crappy team like the Bears around him now? I think what we see there is more a statement of what a good organization the Bills have that they lost Daboll and he's turned the Giants around.
