Well on the bright side, the last time the Broncos strung together two completely joyless win-losses in a row they ended up winning the Super Bowl

How does Melvin get touches still ???
Yeah that was complete madness. After dropping the ball what TWICE, Fumble Gordon III still gets the ball in the red zone??

If anyone has a direct line to Broncos ownership, please send them this message on my behalf :

"Hello, I've been watching the NFL for about 8 years or so and I'm still getting myself up to speed with all of the rules and the nuances of the league. I've actually developed an offensive scheme that I call 'THE 3-and-OUT OFFENSE' that I think could work for the Broncos. It would be about the same as what you've got going right now and I'll do it for half the price... I wouldn't even need a special advisor to help me with it either."

Can we just trade Jeudy already? I'm sick of watching him drop every important ball.
He f***ing sucks and is more concerned about looking cool on Instagram than catching the ball.

It's super frustrating watching all our receivers with the exception of Sutton , and Patrick when healthy. The drops are just insane.

Every week I watch countless receivers around the league make tough contested grabs while our guys can't be bothered to make the grab with no one around and it hitting them in the hands.

Starting next year I'd clean out every WR except Sutton and Patrick and start fresh and just keep cycling guys through until you've got 5 guys that consistently catch the ball.

This is the NFL and drops are inexcusable.

Nathaniel Hacket is a joke.
Yup. He was brought in to lure Rodgers. He didn't. So we went plan B. Except Wilson and Rodgers are very different style QBs.

Hackett will have start letting Russell play like Russell and not Rodgers. Or this could be a very short lived head coaching experience.

Highly doubt that the new owners will be ok with mediocrity after shelling out 4.65B to buy the team and another 250M to get Russell extended.

I swear if I watch another drive that starts Gordon up the middle 2 times for a total of 3 yards, I'm going to lose my shit. Outside us being up 3 scores in the 4th quarter that's unacceptable.

Not to mention this crap of Grordon playing over Williams is insane. It should be a 80/20 split in favor of Williams. Instead we get basically 50/50. Williams had 18 touches total, Gordon 17 last night. Including passes. Williams basically was 4 yards a rush, Gordon was 2.2. Gordon sucks and should never have been brought back.

It's starting to feel like that. Didn't I see a quote last week that Sean Payton would be open to returning to coaching if it was the 'right situation'? The timing of that quote doesn't seem like a coincidence when Broncos coaching is an embarrassment.

Doesn't he have 3 fumbles in 3 games so far? It shouldn't matter that 2 of the 3 didn't end up in turnovers...

Fumble Gordon III should be cut.

Absolutely should be cut, he does have 3 fumbles in 3 games. We are pretty much guaranteed to see at least 1 turnover a week from him.

Lived through 9 years of that with Sammy Winder.
Me too. Also got to see it the last 3 seasons with Fangio. Run up the middle 2 times and try to convert 3rd and 6 or 7 works maybe 15% of the time.

Not sure why we bothered to give up a shit load of assets and then give a 250M extension to get Wilson if the plan was run it 2 times up the middle then try a bail out pass play on 3rd and long. Might as well of just kept Lock and saved the assets if that was the plan.

If he was screwing up clock management and timeouts and the offense looked good then you could handle it, and hopefully he learns.

I thought denver was getting one of these bright offensive minds.
I'd say the best offensive play callers just make it look easy for some nice 5 or 6 yard throws at least.

every throw in this offense even for like 3 yards I hold my breath, that it is going to either be picked or Wilson gets sacked.
IT IS THAT BAD

For 3 straight games every announcer calling the game has been making fun of Denver with how bad their play calling is. That is embarrassing............ three straight games of being roasted.

Most deceiving 2-1 record ever.

Defence has given up just 3 TDs through 3 games. That side of the ball is fine. But they’ve only scored 3 TDs themselves.

Well at least the defense is not the shitshow it kinda looked like for the first game and preseason. It actually looks quite good.

I don't know what the hell to make of the offense but I figured it would be pretty rough hewn. The drops the wideouts made last season and the failed protection schemes weren't just going to magically go away. Thank goodness for Javonte, they'd be an outright disaster if not for him.

A lot of pundits seem to be bringing out the knives for Russ right now, but I'm not there by any means. He's clearly uncomfortable back there but I don't think that's solely on him. Way too many breakdowns, not enough time, and guys either aren't getting open and when they DO get open, they drop the goddamned ball.

Work in progress. But I'm already souring on Hackett.

Wilson isn’t Rodgers with better escapability from the pocket. He’s best getting outside unless it’s quick throws or the pocket opens up for him to attack the middle. Can’t make up that 3-4 inches of height difference. If he stays in the pocket it’s going to be throws to the perimeter.

There’s a reason why the TE have combined for just 120 yards through 3 games with Russ.

What I saw last night was Russ holding on to the damn ball way too long. I’m not sure what the reasoning is for that but it’s either on Russ or it’s on the WRs not getting open. I definitely was shocked last night to see Hinton on the field. Good young player but he seemed like he was actually getting decent playing time - which tells me our WR corp sucks. I think they miss Patrick a lot more than anyone thought, and I have already written off KJ Hamler as 100% bust. I won’t be shocked at all to see a WR drafted in round 3 next year……and I’m definitely on the adios bandwagon for Melvin Gordon. How he is in there at the goal line at the end - wow that’s taking a large leap of faith. It worked out well but he would have been watching that TD from the sideline if I was somehow the HC.

Russ in Seattle likes to go for big plays vs dump it to the check down for minimal gains. He can get some big plays but will also take unnecessary sacks.

How is it deceiving? Last night's yardage was about even and the first two games they crushed their opponents but found a way not to take advantage of it. Yes the first two were easier games but this last one wasn't. Deceiving would be if they got lucky and won games they didn't deserve to.

They are probably record wise where they should be. Beat sea and Hou but lose to SF was the likely expectation.

Defence is good. Offence, not close to where they should be. Not finishing enough drives. Difference in most games is 1 score.

Whether that’s converting at mid field to extend a drive to get a FG attempt or turning a RZ ending drive from a FG to a TD, in most cases is the difference between winning or losing a game.

The back half of the schedule is tough so they have a little time to get their O in order.

Remember SammyJankis
I’m not saying things will turn around like they did in 2012, but it’s easy to forget that team started out 2-3 and Peyton Manning didn’t look so great in his first year with the Broncos.

Game 2 against the Atlanta Falcons, Broncos go down 20-0 and Manning finishes the game with 3 INTs.

Game 3 against the Houston Texans, Broncos go down 31-11 before making a game of it.

Game 5 against the New England Cheatriots, Broncos go down 31-7 before making the final score a little more respectable.

Broncos would go on to win the next 11 before Rahim Moore and John Fox cost the team a potential Super Bowl.

It’s been an inauspicious start for sure. The AFC is probably too loaded for the Broncos to do real damage. But I wouldn’t read too much into things right now. If it continues to be a problem later in the season, then that’s a real concern.

I’d like to see what Russ can do with better coaching.
Isn't happening this year and probably not for some years to come. I think they will win way too many games for Paton and ownership to decide to make a change.

If Hackett puts pride aside, the org goes out and gets a real O-coordinator next year who agrees philosophically with him. He wasn't a real coordinator in GB and benefitted from Rodgers playing in a system he helped create to play to his strengths. The team seems to respond really well to Hackett as the coach and leader, I'm hopeful they figure this out. He's not the next McVay, Daboll, or McDaniels out there, he needs to stop pretending he will be.

If we are being realistic no they probably aren't contenders yet. However its possible they find themselves before the end of the year, get some breaks along the way and then hit full gear in the playoffs. They are still missing some players to injury who might heal up by season's end. The right side of the O-line is a disaster right now but some guys might get back soon. Simmons coming back will make a standout defense even better. Hamler is probably a lost cause for this season but the experts said he probably had little chance to start the season anywhere near 100% and we see it so far.

There are what, a couple 3-down backs in the league now? Whether its MG or Boone, someone else is going to be out there. I think Gordon is better in pass pro at this point of his career than Williams and is effective enough running the ball that teams respect the play action. If Boone comes in, he's rarely running the ball so teams ignore the play action with him. Its pointless to wish for Williams to be out there every play, its just not how NFL teams operate now.

Yes, but at least Boone isn't averaging a fumble a game. It's pointless to keep a guy that simply can't hold onto the ball. I don't give two shits how good he is in pass protection if all he does is fumble. If we really need a good pass protector that can still run and catch on 3rd downs, they should just put Beck out there. That's the whole point of a FB. Lead block, pass block and once in a blue moon run or catch a pass. I would much rather Boone or Beck be out there than Mr.Butterfingers.
