Yeah that was complete madness. After dropping the ball what TWICE, Fumble Gordon III still gets the ball in the red zone??

If anyone has a direct line to Broncos ownership, please send them this message on my behalf :

"Hello, I've been watching the NFL for about 8 years or so and I'm still getting myself up to speed with all of the rules and the nuances of the league. I've actually developed an offensive scheme that I call 'THE 3-and-OUT OFFENSE' that I think could work for the Broncos. It would be about the same as what you've got going right now and I'll do it for half the price... I wouldn't even need a special advisor to help me with it either."
8 years? Dude.

Chad Powers, AKA Eli Manning just destroyed us on MNF. Gave me a good laugh.

I’m not saying things will turn around like they did in 2012, but it’s easy to forget that team started out 2-3 and Peyton Manning didn’t look so great in his first year with the Broncos.

Game 2 against the Atlanta Falcons, Broncos go down 20-0 and Manning finishes the game with 3 INTs.

Game 3 against the Houston Texans, Broncos go down 31-11 before making a game of it.

Game 5 against the New England Cheatriots, Broncos go down 31-7 before making the final score a little more respectable.

Broncos would go on to win the next 11 before Rahim Moore and John Fox cost the team a potential Super Bowl.

It’s been an inauspicious start for sure. The AFC is probably too loaded for the Broncos to do real damage. But I wouldn’t read too much into things right now. If it continues to be a problem later in the season, then that’s a real concern.
Broncos D is very good. OL needs work.

Brady and Manning were free agents, so it didn't cost the clubs anything to sign them.

Stafford cost 2 firsts and Goff and third. But, when considering the deal, the Stafford/Goff salaries and cap hits need to be considered. LA & Det last season both took dead caps to move on from their QBs, so it's a better deal to add more cap to get Stafford over Goff.

Russ cost 2 first and 2 seconds. Plus when factoring in Fant and Locke were former 1st and 2nd round picks on rookie deals, so there goes that 2019 draft's top 2 picks.
Have 2020 Jeudy and Hamler who are inconsistent at WR.
2021 have Surtain at CB who is excellent and Williams at RB.

Have to scout and develop well for an OL position group that is a challenge to get live reps due to the contact rules in off-season and camp.

What FAB would you spend on picking up Lawrence this week? I also have two trades proposed to me CMC+Pittman for Eckler+Waddle and Henry+Bateman+Moore for Sanders+Adams+Hopkins. I’ve managed to start the season 0-3.
I’ve never done fantasy with a budget, so I won’t be much help there.

And do you have CMC/Pittman and Henry/Bateman/Moore(assuming DJ?)?

I have Eckler and Sanders and no, Moore from NYJ
What’s the rest of your team look like?

It would have to depend on how you feel about Ekeler for the rest of the season. CMC I like better than Ekeler, but has major health issues obviously. I think Pittman is a bit better, but Waddle is in a better situation.

Rbs:
Eckler, Sanders, Pierce, D.Harris, B. Robinson(IR)
Wrs:
Adams, Waddle, Sutton, Hopkins (Suss), Lazard, Duvernay
TE:
Pitts & Higbee

Yeah those are my thoughts too, plus Pittman is a bit banged up.

Who’s your QB? Probably no one crazy if you are looking at Lawrence?

Have your games been close or have you been getting smoked? If you’re getting smoked I’d make the trade just to see if switching it up will benefit you.

Rotation or garbage haha. Had Dak week 1 lost by 0.1 and have been streaming since. Week 2 got a Buffalo beat down lost big. This week lost by 15.

Just all feels like the scheme isn't where it needs to be and the coach and players need to get on the same page. Figure out what works and what doesn't and go with it. The line plays a role in it but I think its a scheme adjustment for them as well. All the more reason to call out Hackett for not taking the preseason seriously.

As for the cost of Wilson, embedded in it is the fact that he's on a relatively cheap contract this year and next. Paying a starting QB under $25m per season is a "win" as you can use those resources to sign players to make up for the lack of picks. I have no real issue with the trade or Russ as a QB now. He's not an MVP level but never really has been. He's a huge upgrade over Lock and once they unleash his long ball a big step up from Teddy. Only legitimate question is will he give enough value to earn the extension. So many QBs have outlived expectations in recent years that I think its a decent bet but only time will tell.

Russ is signed through 2029 but in 2026 his dead cap number is $31M……….After that it slides all the way down to $12.8 in 2027 and 4.4 in 2028. If he makes it to 2029 that’s great but It’s pretty unlikely. They definitely made it easy to cut him in the later years of his deal.

Oh man I hope Tua is okay. That looked gruesome. I think the whole "back injury" thing last week was BS. Now it looks like a second and much much worse head injury.

Yeah that looked real bad... when the fingers freeze up, it is pretty major.
