So sick of Payton, went right back to his **** calls after they tied it up. His two timeouts handed them the game.

We lost to the Raiders, Commanders, Jets, and Patriots this year. Playing down to your competition is what loser teams run by loser coaches and loser GMs do.

Inexcusable.

Russ is gonna come up smelling roses for his amazing come back effort lol
With all the chances we had this game should have been over at the half.

yep he gambled and lost but the game was lost in the 3 quarters of the game.

I’m still on the Payton train but I was scratching my head at those TOs. Sometimes Sean gets a little over arrogant and that was 100% one of those instances. And it cost us.

Broncos have been trying to find the easy way out for years. Need to face reality and rebuild….should have started 7-8 years ago. And Payton sucks just a much as Russ and Paton….can’t buy championships. Hope the Waltons understand this.

Yep. They should have blown it up after the 9-7 year with Siemian. Instead we've been trying to put bandaids on gunshot wounds since then and denying reality.

Need to trade up. Don't want to watch Russ anymore.
I agree I don't wanna watch him either but how are we gonna trade up? Give up another first rounder next year? We don't even have our 2nd rounder this year. I believe we lost in the Payton trade. Not many guys on the roster have value.

We probably won't, but I wish we could. Another year of Russ is gonna be rough.

How does the GM play down to anything? That one was on the coaching and the players. I don't think Paton lasts too long only because he was inherited. Real tough love will be to tell him to dump yes man Lombardi and get a real OC in there to call plays. Payton can influence the offense but he can't call it.

Just curious why everyone is so down on Payton? I watch the dude and he is like Dan Campbell was last year with the Lions - absolutely disgusted. He’s already told us before the season started that he thought the roster needed a lot of work still and I don’t think he’s on the Russ train at all (but stuck with him). The roster definitely needs some fixing but I’ve seen some guys on this team either outproduce their capabilities and/or found some diamonds in the rough that no one thought would work out. That equates to coaching for me. I still think we need another season of Payton to assess. He isn’t over his head like Hackett was. And this thing wasn’t gonna be fixed in one year.

All that being said - Evero and Ryans look pretty solid. Ryans maybe has the Texans in a spot to make the playoffs but they also did it with a #1 QB pick and they have almost the same record as the Broncos. Evero has taken the Panthers D to an above average unit in the NFL overnight. If people are pissed about Payton they should probably be pissed we let Evero go, although 1) after firing his buddy Hackett I think it was a really long stretch to say he wanted to replace his best friend as HC and 2) it remains to be seen how he would have handled our offense.

Meh, even when they were winning by the skin of their teeth they didn’t impress me much (the defense did, not the offense). The season was over for me after the Miami blowout.

The feeling I can’t shake is that Payton went out of his way to make Russ look bad in order to ensure #3’s departure this offseason. Mind you, I don’t think Russ needs any help to look bad because he’s f***in’ COOKED, but the way Payton managed that game just brought out the conspiracy theorist in me.

I am pissed seeing how well the offense looked in the 4th quarter. Why wasn't Payton calling those plays in the first three quarters? Why did he insist on pounding the ball into oblivion when it was going nowhere?

I do agree that he called way too many rushing plays against one of the best rush defenses in the NFL, but the big plays for the Broncos only really started working when the Pats went into prevent to kill the clock. The O-line couldn't get it done today and was abused by the Pats D-line all game. Only when they rushed 3 or the Broncos had an extra TE in was Russ able to have time. And without Sutton, we lost almost all the 50/50 throws.

Later in the game, I actually think trying to win the game by taking those timeouts was the correct mind set. Getting into field goal range and not letting the game go to OT was smart, but those 3 plays that fallowed were terrible calls and the players also failed to execute them badly. The pitch to start the drive worked earlier in the game. So I get why they tried it first, but they called it one too many times. The Pats got wise to it, and the lost yards pretty much killed the drive. They should have accepted their fate on 3rd down and ran the ball to force the Pats in taking their last timeout, but at the same time, had they done that, I probably would've called them cowards . I think that was Javonte's worse game of his career. I also think that was his first ever fumble too.

The defense needs to share some blame as well. For as great as they've been, they still couldn't stop them in the obvious passing situations. Our best corner can't be getting beat like that on a throw to decide the game.

This off season I want them to keep Peyton, ditch Russ, and fire Paton into the blackest, darkest, most freezing part of the moon.

I'm not expecting Payton to go anywhere soon but the man needs to be self aware. He's not with the Saints any longer and the game has evolved. His offensive instincts are still Parcells school of run the ball and don't turn it over. Russ isn't a fit for him and I'm starting to see the path towards improbably letting him go. Doesn't make the team better any time soon to do that but if the ceiling is 9 or 10 wins then it probably must be done. I don't know if Payton should be given all the decision on who could replace him because that should also be part of his job to build an offense around the talent he has instead of saying it's going to be done my way.

I'm not shilling for Payton or anything, but the Broncos roster is mediocre from top to bottom. Aside from #2, there really isn't anyone special at all. Only so much a coach can do.

This season's Broncos aren't as bad as they showed in the Miami game, and aren't as good as the 6 game streak might indicate.

Meh, average, mediocre all around.

The team lacks talent the recieving was way overrated and not a QB away from contending. It was so obvious last game no one could make a contested catch after Sutton went down. We might have something with Mims but Jeudy has got to go.

Feels like the Nuggets should’ve absolutely steamrolled the Warriors with Draymond out and Steph bricking shot after shot but it ended up being a close one. Regardless they got the win and did so without Joker being the best player. Good defensive game from MPJ.

Which bunch was whinier? The 2022 Bolts in the Cup Final or the Warriors last night?
The NBA is unbearable to me most nights with guys whining and complaining. I thought they were supposed to address this like 10 years ago and it’s just getting back to that level again

Start the countdown…..But here’s a fun question - 1) would you retain Wilson in a reworked deal? And if so 2) how much per year? I think most “good” backups in this league make close to $10M? I haven’t looked in a while

I'd rather just be rid of him. He and his wife are just too much of a distraction. Better to just move on. Paton really f***ed us with that deal.
