Strategically its the worst thing you could do in the regular season. Jordan is well rested and playing good for spurts, great asset to have. Might need it in the playoffs. But that's it, he's just filling minutes while his body holds up. Zeke needs time to work on his game and be part of the rotation for the rest of the regular season. If he's not contributing the way Malone wants him to then he can keep him out in the playoffs.
Zeke has had four years to work on his game and he's literally a worse offensive player today than he was his rookie year. He's never going to figure it out. He's a situational defensive roleplayer. That's his ceiling.
Neither Jordan nor Zeke should or will play any minutes in the playoffs as long as Jokic, Gordon, Porter, and Watson are healthy.
Starters, Jackson, Braun, and Watson. Holiday maybe. That's your playoff rotation. Same as last year but with Reggie and Watson/Holiday instead of Bruce and Green. Watson is the man they need to be getting ready for the playoffs. He's the guy who needs to grow the most the rest of this regular season.
Regular season rotation should be
Starters:
1. Jokic
2. Murray
3. Porter
4. Gordon
5. KCP
---Rotation---
6. Jackson
7. Braun
8. Jordan
---Situational rotation--- (depending on matchup, game situation, how they're playing)
9. Holiday
10. Watson
11. Strawther
---Deep bench--- (garbage time, injury/rest replacements)
12. Nnaji
13. Gillespie
14. Pickett
15. Key
16. Tyson
17. Huff
---Injured reserve---
18. Cancar
