Break couldn't be coming at a better time for the Nugs.

Gordon (calf), Porter (hamstring), Westbrook (hamstring), Watson (knee), and Cancar (knee) are all working their way back. Murray has been on and off the injury report for most of the season. Jordan is 36. A whole week off is big.

We should get Westbrook, Porter, and Gordon back immediately coming out of the break. Cancar and Watson might be late February/early March but they should all be back with plenty of time for Malone to figure out the playoff rotation.

Gotta admit when the Nuggets get everyone back im gonna be kind of bummed - I’ve liked watching these kids lately the past few games. Was hoping Trey Alexander was going to get in again last night but Portland just kept hanging around.

You don't want to see guys like Nnaji, Pickett, Tyson, or Saric against good teams.

We played 8 bad teams in a row that had injury issues worse than we did. That plus these guys playing most of their minutes with Jokic has given the false impression that they've improved as players. They haven't, and in large sample sizes against quality teams they'll be exposed like they were early in the year and all last year. Especially if we ask them to play their minutes with Jordan, Westbrook, and Strawther off the bench rather than with Jokic, Murray, and Braun.

Yeah I agree with ya but watchin the kids is still fun. I think the media greatly over exaggerates Pickett; I just don’t see it with him. I guess he doesn’t make a lot of mistakes but I don’t see a lot of offensive threat in him.

I think the only two dudes that have maybe earned more time through this stretch are Zeke and Strawther. Zeke is still pretty awful but I think he should at least get 5-10 mins a game. Strawther’s offense has really started to click but it’s very obvious come playoff time that he’s going to get picked on over in the defensive end.

Oh well - this stretch has been fun while it’s lasted.

If we're healthy Zeke should play zero minutes. We don't need to play five forwards and Porter, Gordon, Watson, and Cancar are all better players than Zeke by a considerable margin.

Pickett is a fantastic passer and a solid defender but he'll always be limited by his poor handles, inconsistent shooting, slow footspeed, and below average size.

Rotation should be

Starters:
1. Jokic
2. Murray
3. Gordon
4. Porter
5. Braun

Main bench rotation:
6. Westbrook
7. Watson
8. Strawther
9. Jordan
10. Cancar (won't play every night)

Situational only (when someone else is hurt or in foul trouble):
11. Nnaji
12. Pickett

Deep bench:
13. Saric
14. Tyson
15. Alexander
16. Hall
17. Jones

Out for season:
18. Holmes

I'm beginning to hope we can land Tee Higgins, that would be so much fun. Draft Colston and have him on rookie salary the length of a contract that Higgins is on.

Melo's case is airtight. He's definitely a HOF guy:
10X All-Star
6X All-NBA
1X Scoring Champion
3X Olympic Gold Medalist, 1X Bronze Medalist
1X NCAA Champion, Tournament Most Outstanding Player

Nah, f*** him
He revitalized basketball in this city. Before he got here, Rocky was literally the face of the franchise. The mascot was the most popular Nugget.

Nuggets tickets were basically free. I remember every Friday in my gym class, the teacher would give away free Nuggets tickets to kids that could answer basic sports trivia questions and I always won them because nobody else even wanted to go to the games for free. Carmelo made us respectable again.

Plus, we got the draft pick we used on Jamal Murray in the Carmelo trade.

No he didn't lol. He abandoned us because his wife wanted to live in NY
He absolutely did. Did you even watch Nuggets basketball from 1996 to 2003?

Nugs winning percentage by year

1996: .427 (first year without Mutombo)
1997: .256
1998: .134
1999: .280
2000: .427
2001: .488
2002: .329
2003: .207
2004: .524 (first year with Carmelo)

The Nuggets were a bigger joke than the Rockies before Carmelo got here.

Blah blah blah. f*** Carmelo Anthony.

Funnily enough, Milicic has actually won a championship
You mean Milicic stood nearby while Ben Wallace, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace, and Chauncey Billups won a championship. Darko played fewer than 6 minutes, all in garbage time. Darko is an NBA Champion in the same way that Ish Smith and Collin Gillespie are NBA Champions for the Nuggets.

I just said it was funny not that he contributed to it lol

I see both sides on the Melo thing.

I lean on the side where I'm thankful for Melo. Help revitalize the franchise in Denver, and the fact that he demanded for a trade meant us getting a haul for him instead of getting nothing in return.

We almost ended up with Darko Milicic instead. If that happens there's no telling how many more consecutive losing seasons we end up with, and we never make the trade that brought us Jamal Murray.
Joe Dumars belongs on the greatest Nuggets GM list.

Nuggets greatest 6th Man: Shotgun Willie’s

If he hadn’t shot his mouth off saying the Nuggets gave Jokic #15 was a shot at him, I’d be open to a reconciliation, but now…
