Only thing worse than Jay Mariotti is a wannabe Jay Marriotti.

I’ll freely admit I was waaaaaaaay wrong about Nix. Happy to be wrong too. I still have reservations about Payton’s play calling but he’s brought the quarterback along perfectly.

And this was without any of our RBs ever having a 100 yard game or a #1 TE.

One could argue that they don't have a true #1 WR either. No offense to Sutton, but he's a low end 1, probably a high 2.

If we can find a way to add someone like Garrett Wilson via trade and draft either Loveland or Warren in the 1st round, and a guy like Skattebo in the 2nd, things could get interesting fast.

Seriously? He was 16th in receiving yards, in a 32 team league.

I've seen Skatman projected as a 3rd, which OH HELL YEAH! One of the TEs and Skat in the 3rd and usr the 2nd on a safety or some OLine help.

We got the early Sunday timeslot. Would love an upset but even just making a game of it would be massive. Hope whoever wins this one knocks out the Chiefs
From this point on, it's all gravy for me. Making the playoffs with a rookie QB is a huge accomplishment.

Here is the thing with Sutton, not sure he puts up the same numbers on a different team with a better WR core. The Broncos are exceedingly thin at WR and Sutton was the only remotely reliable one until Mims started playing well the last 4 games or so. Once Mims started playing better the last 4 Sutton's numbers declined slightly as Nix had another option.

I'm not bagging Sutton, I really like him I just see him more as the Eric Decker to a DT. And there is nothing wrong with that as Decker was great here. If we could get a legit top 10 caliber guy to compliment Sutton and Mims we'd be deadly, throw in Vele and Franklin here and there and you've got a legit WR room.

It's crazy how much better the offense has looked since they've been involving Mims. They finally have a guy that can break open big plays and they aren't just sending him on go routes all game.

I dunno, I think the defense has performed admirably, especially in light of key injuries and the overall limitations due to all that friggin' dead cap space. So long as they bring in someone good, I'm fine with it but I'll be sad if he goes...which is not what I thought I'd be saying when he came back.

Probably just tagging up for the Rooney Rule.

More good news, the Broncos have been drafting well lately:

Yeah exactly although to be fair he was open on a lot of those go routes earlier in the year and the ball didn't head his way. I think Payton likes his guys to be a little different, serve different purposes. While they certainly should draft more WR depth I don't know if he's ever believed he needed a top 10 pick, freakish talent type. All those guys he had in NO developed in their own way. Even Reggie Bush needed to find a role.

Will be interesting to see how SP and GP come together on this draft. The team is full of guys who weren't clear cut stars coming out that came with question marks except for PS2 and even that had the nonsense about reaching for Fields. I definitely could see them trade down to get more picks and still find gems that fit.

I’d stay away from skattebo, reminds me of Ron Dayne and all those miles
