I heard they are pretty high on Siemian though....
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'm not a huge fan of Brock at 17M, but I think that's what it will take to get it done.
I think they are much better off going with Siemian and a high draft pick at that price. I'm 100% not sold on RG III. Running QB with two ACL injuries to the same leg. Attitude that blows. At least for Osweiler there's a large majority out there that thought he "sucked" two years ago and he at least has shown major improvement and the willingness to work and get better. RGIII in the same scenario has pouted and been nothing but a complete ****** the last two years. I seriously worry that a rookie QB beats him out and he becomes a $13 million cancer in the locker room.
I'd much rather pay Fitzpatrick at $18M than RG3 at 13 or Brock at 17
We're not paying Brock 17M per. Our budget won't allow for it. We've got other players that need to get paid as well. If Brock won't slot in around 13-15M per he isn't going to play here. We'll let some other team stupidly overpay him.
Siemian isn't going to be the starter next season, and honestly it's probably a long shot that he ever gets the starting nod.
If Brock goes, we will be spending a 1st or 2nd round pick on a QB in the draft. They will also go out and get a player like RG3. Of all the options available I see him be the most likely person, just because of his previous success in a Mike Shanahan type offense.
Kaepernick will be a 49er at least through this season, plus you don't want him here. He basically a slightly more athletic Tim Tebow, his stats have just been getting worse every year.
Fitzpatrick is a long shot option. I don't see Elway going for an aging vet, who has shown over the years to blow lots of key games.
Other than that, the options are pretty slim. You could try to manufacture a trade, but I'm not sure who'd be available.
If I was a betting man, I'd put money on RG3 if it's not Brock. RG3 would bring the most value on a short term contract. He's young and has talent but he's high risk but also high reward if he does recapture what he started his rookie season.
