Yes, Fitzpatrick and Osweiler have the same agent.

The difference is where they are in their careers. Fitzpatrick will be 34 this season and made 25 million dollars off his last contract alone. Osweiler is 25 and coming off his rookie second round contract. And of course the Broncos have a great defense, a great head coach, and they're coming off a Super Bowl.

A difference of 2-3 million dollars per year is a lot more significant for a guy like Brock than it is for a guy like Fitzpatrick.

Not saying he'll sign here, but I feel like if the money is equal he'd be more likely to jump to Denver than re-sign with the Jets.

At this point my preferences are
1. AJ McCarron (not likely)
2. Ryan Fitzpatrick
3. Josh McCown
4. Brian Hoyer
5. Robert Griffin III
6. Trevor Siemian
7. Colin Kaepernick

Hoyer and McCown should not even BE on your list, let alone in the Top-5...

I am wondering if Elway is content to let Juwann and Kapri run the show, he has someone he likes in the draft and/or they're bringing in someone like Arian Foster.

Just please Let Hillman sign somewhere else!:help:

Still scratching my head why the Broncos did not make a 2nd round tender offer to CJ instead of the lowest possible tender. $1.67M vs 2.55M. 900K more. I doubt a team would have made an offer if it meant they would have to give up a 2nd round draft pick if they signed CJ. And even if they did, we get a 2nd round draft pick. CJ is worth at least 2.55M right? This one makes no sense. We were paying Colquitt more. Dumb.

The CJ stuff puzzles me. The only thing I can figure is that Kubiak doesn't like him. Still, it's a rich deal but I hope Elway matches. He's a guy like Elway said yesterday "wants to be a Bronco".

If not, gimme Alfred Morris from Washington. He was really good in the Shannahan offense.

Also it sure sounds like Kaepernick is more likely to be here next year than not.

If he matches on CJ he is admitting to making a big mistake as he could have had him at 2.55M and now he is paying double that. Can't see him matching.

I'm actually hoping for Kaepernick at this point just so I can get out the popcorn and watch that portion of Bronco Country spaz out and yank away any credit JE might have gotten for building a Super Bowl winner after the McDaniels disaster.

I'm giving Elway a good benefit of the doubt personally. That defense was awesome last year. I think he definitely has a good grasp of this whole situation.

The Broncos are going to inevitably have to tank to draft a good QB anyway, right?
Not necessarily. They are gonna draft and develop a QB (or try to ala Osweiler) this year. If they get Kaepernick it buys them time to get a guy that is a bit more of a project like Hogan from Stanford or just keep going with Siemein. I don't think you have to tank to get a QB. Seattle is doing just fine with Wilson, Brady was a 6th rounder, etc...

Looking at some of the franchise QBS in the league: Brady, Rodgers, Roethlisberger, Brees, Newton, Luck, Wilson, E. Manning and Rivers perhaps.... a good number of them were not top 10 picks. There's no reason to assume they have to tank a season to get a franchise QB.

How many weren't first rounders? I believe Brees, Romo and Brady weren't. I guess not Wilson either but I'm not quite calling him a franchise cornerstone yet either. Vast majority of franchise QBs have to be first round talents.

Maybe we could trade up to get someone we really like?

Edit: in the next couple of drafts.

Stick Hoyer down there with Kaepernick, and I'm OK with it.

I really, really don't want Kaepernick. Not only does he stink, it'll cost them picks to get him.
