ROY, All Rookie 1st Team, Youngest MVP ever, All NBA 1st team, 3 Time All Star. He did more in 8 years than most do in their entire careers in a Bulls uniform. I got 0 issue with it.

Seems like it would be similar to the Pacers retiring Paul George's number.

Or like if the Cubs were to retire Kris Bryant's number, but at least he helped bring the city a title after 100+ years.

I want to say I stopped following basketball around when the Rose era was beginning, so I don't know, maybe he has more of a "brand" with Chicago than I realize.

Sure seems odd to retire his number to me, though.

If he wasn’t from Englewood they wouldn’t be doing it.

He's a local, for sure, but again the cupboards are bare for the Bulls the past quarter century. If you're going to say that nobody to date post-Jordan deserves a retired number, that's legitimate. But if you're going to say one person does, who other than Rose fits the bill?

Bulls were exciting and relevant with Rose, not so much before or after if we're talking about a year beginning in 20xx.

Dynasties galore at the lower levels. In addition to that, Ferris State won their third DII championship in the past four years back in December and North Dakota State won their tenth title in the past fourteen years in the FCS tonight.

Right back at you. Countless times ESPN took joy in watching Bama lose or the SEC look bad.

As long as the world keeps spinning.

"College" football is dying anyways.

Any idea what the actual ratings say for 2024 viewership vs say 2023? I did a quick google but couldn't find anything, but admittedly didn't look at that hard either.

I can’t find the full season analysis, but I just read an Athletic article that stated “21 of the 30 non-Playoff bowls that aired on an ESPN network through Jan. 2 saw year-over-year viewership increases, the majority of them by 20 percent or more.”

College football ain’t dead yet, folks.

I remember when the Hula Bowl was a big deal. It's playing tomorrow, fwiw. But you can't watch it because.....
"Unfortunately, the new management made some choices that will hinder the ability to find out anything from the game. Allegedly no media were credentialed for the game, only agents and scouts. There is also no live broadcast of the game this year. With only a 3 am Monday morning replay on CBSSN providing the possibility to see it."
