Nah, that's what the A's want you to think. They've intentionally poisoned the well and fielded a quadruple A squad at best for years, all while publically looking elsewhere for financial incentives to build a new stadium (first San Jose, then sort of Portland, and now eagerly following the Raiders to Vegas).
Why would locals fork over money to an organization not committed to the market or winning and would only line the pockets of an owner halfway out the door?
