BIG D!

Now they need whoever is on the mound tomorrow to channel their inner Drysdale to win Game 7.

For the second inning in a row a 2-out single ties the game. This time Smith comes through for the Dodgers, and makes it 2-2.

I don't know how much the rules have changed regarding the catcher blocking the plate, but that is not the way to do it.

Oh, I think the slide was completely legal. As a catcher back in the day I was taught to position myself in a way that the only path I allowed to the plate was the back portion of the plate. d'Arnaud was not in the proper position to block the plate on a bang-bang play. He turned at the last second and by then it was too late. I think what he did with his knee at the last second is a good way for him to get injured.

This is the way I was taught to do it:

Do they teach fundamentals at the MLB level anymore?

I don't know what the hell Riley was doing, but the whole purpose of the runner at third getting in a rundown is so he could take third base.

Atlanta doesn't deserve to win this game if they can't execute on the simplest of all baseball plays.
