Do you read? I just said when their highest spending year was on this page.

I was being anal retentive, to the point I singled out the Astros' 2005 season, while I am genuinely surprised they were they're spending that much during that time period, especially when the Cardinals own the National League Central.

Danks is getting knocked around pretty good by the worst offense in baseball. 4 runs and 7 hits through 2.1 innings. They're leaving him in for now.

Ouch; also, what are the White Sox's needs at the moment?

Longterm replacements needed are probably the bullpen, catcher, 3rd base, 2nd base and left field. That's why they are a below .500 team - there are a lot of holes. The bullpen seems to be the biggest problem this season. They would be in striking range of Detroit if they had even a decent bullpen.

Both Rizzo and Castro are rebounding nicely. Looks like the prospects hammering the minors are giving them some added incentive.

I was just checking on MLB Trade Rumors' DFA Tracker and got me thinking:

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/dfatracker

LF/2B: Alfonso Soriano
2B only: Donnie Murphy
LF only: Roger Bernadina
Bullpen: J.J. Putz, Kyle Farnsworth, Joe Saunders, Duke Welker, Jerome Williams
Catcher: AJ Pierzynski, John Buck

If there's outdated info I posted, I was only looking at the "released" players.

looks like Danks' bad peripheral stats are finally starting to catch up to him.

Yikes; do you think a bullpen stint would actually reinvigorate him?

Blue Jays designate Sergio Santos for assignment

Career really fell off with injures after Sox traded him. Positive for Blue Jays is they gave up nothing of value for him

Nestor Molina has done nothing to impress since trade

Short answer, no. Long answer, sox should be desperately looking to dump him.

No one listed there is a viable long term solution

True, but at least they'd be taking on mentor duties at the very least and worst.

Soriano at 2b again sounds fun. How about shortstop? catcher?

Oh, by the way, the Blue Jays are pursuing him in the waiver wire, according to NJ.com. :naughty:

Danks is struggling, so his trade stock is rather low. :(:shakehead

Looking at the Cubs roster, I just don't think they have what it takes to tank bad enough to get the #1 pick meaning best case scenario they land at 3 but probably end up closer to 5 or 6.

The Astros are better now and the Rockies have Tulo. The competition is actually much better for that #1 pick.

Texas' real life version of M.A.S.H. will result in them getting some guys back and winning more games.
