And you cant spin the Alonso trade as a positive for Sox if we don't land Machado

We bailed out the Indians to continue to contend and rule AL Central

Took on the entire salary of Alonso allowing them to move off edge and keep Bauer and Kluber
totally agree..... i kept on looking to see a silver lining and only came up with Alonso splits to justify it.

Yeah the Sox offseason sucks if this is direction team is going

We have to let this play out. I mean, maybe we still get Machado or Harper. Or maybe they have something else up their sleeves. But what we're seeing now gives the appearances of a team that was not prepared for the off-season.

that is a great pov, considering that all mlb teams been waiting for this particular time of baseball season.

i am thinking that the team under JR was really not addressing the team's needs. instead they went for the object of putting fans into the seat.... hence a KW style of GM'ing. which we all have seen failed all these times except for 1 time.

they should have gone for pitching.... and a cf'er who is capable of batting either #1 or 2 in a lineup.

ND is such a POS team. How many big games are they going to get the absolute shit beat out of them until the committee discards them from the conversation??

Really. The playoff committee needs to treat them as if they are UCF or Boise State when they were good. They continue to schedule St. Mary's of the Woods and Lazarus Catholic School for the Blind. (these are fictional schools btw that I use to make fun of ND) They Suck and do not deserve to be taken seriously until they join the ACC along with the rest of their sports.

2 great programs. Love watching the cheaters at ND get booty blasted.

Do any of the top programs in college football NOT cheat? I'd be amazed if anyone could compete doing it the way they're supposed to.

This is a blatant lie, ND regularly has amongst the toughest strength of schedules (#12 this year) and plays 5 ACC teams every season. Also played Michigan, Stanford, USC and Northwestern this year. Also plays several "home games" every year at neutral sites, like the true national program that it is.

The problem isn't schedule, it's execution. Alabama and Clemson are in a league of their own these last couple of years, almost unbeatable. I'd still take ND against Oklahoma, Ohio State and maybe Georgia. ND belongs in the playoffs this year and anyone who thinks otherwise is just uninformed or ignorant.

I probably wouldn't use the ACC as your arguing point in favor of ND given they never play the only elite team in the ACC unless it's in the playoff.

Michigan was good this year, I'll give you that. Stanford and USC finished the season unranked. Northwestern went 8-5.

Their schedule wasn't that difficult and they got absolutely demolished in the playoff.

What are you arguing?

I'm arguing the notion that the schedule is weak and the laughable comparison to non power 5 teams like UCF and Boise. Also laughable to claim ND schedules cup cakes, that's what SEC teams do before "tough" games every year.

#12 SOS is a fact and can not be argued. ND do not schedule FCS teams, can't control which ACC teams will be good from year to year and play rivals from all around the country every year.

No respectable football analyst had ND outside the top 4 after going 12-0 with their 2018 schedule.

Yesterday was a stinker, the best players played their worst game of the year in the biggest game of the year, unfortunately looked overwhelmed. Confident we'd still beat Oklahoma but we'll never know now.

I’m just stating that ND isn’t a great team. I mean they beat who was in their schedule, so they deserve the playoff for that.

ND never stood a chance against Alabama or Clemson. I don’t think they’d stand much of a chance against Oklahoma or Georgia either IMO.

ND’s best W this year was against Michigan who got absolute plowed by the 3rd best SEC team.

Not all that impressive.

Lavine's a good player to have if you want to tank.
Lavine sucked tonight. That said, did you watch the 2 previous games? He was incredibly efficient. Lavine needs good PG play to set him up. He pounds the ball too much as a play maker. Dunn has to take more control. If he can't, the Bulls need other solutions. Markannen and Carter are also dependent on Dunn on offense. They still need more time to develop their 1x1 game.

LaVine would be so much better as a 6th man off the bench. Unfortunately with the lack of talent we have, plus his contract and the FO's stubbornness that he is a franchise talent makes that hard.
