OT Thread XX: Title Pending.

yeah. i like your point about boogard. but at the end of the day, was he fluting around taking pictures of him popping pills and ****?

and with CCP, if you don't have sympathy doesn't mean he won't miss him. let's face it boogie hit close to home, you can't go on a hockey forum and expect someone not to feel sorry for a hockey player passing. Just I know it's essentially the "same" thing, doing **** to your body, but if you look at the 2 breeds of people it's really different.

Lil Wayne hasn't ever shoved Purple Drank down anybody else's throat. People should be able to make their own decisions regarding this stuff. It's really not all that difficult. He should be allowed to promote any non-violent hobby he wishes.

I have more respect for Lil Wayne than just about any American president from the 1820s on. He's hurt far fewer people.

It's sad, but it's their choice.

I've always viewed things like that.

Some think I'm cruel, but I don't care. What you do with your life is your choice. Sure I'd miss the person, but in the end, it was their fault.

On top of that (and i'm not hip to the rap scene so correct me if I'm wrong) he writes songs about it. "Sippin Sizzurp"?..Yeah real ****ing cool. To me, that's not like a drug problem I've ever seen or experienced, it's him trying live up to an image and taking it too far.

So he's an idiot? I think we all know that. I don't like his music. I don't sip codeine and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Regardless, if the guy were to die from his habits I think it's incredibly silly to feel no sympathy for him. He's a good guy and he's barely out of his 20s.
 
A huge portion of the bands/artists I listen to have been affected by drugs in some way. :(

Exactly. Missing someone and feeling sympathetic are two different things. Just quit antagonizing me and either respect my views or don't.

I don't understand the correlation. People dying from poor choices deserve no sympathy?

I see what you are saying, and I'm not trying to make myself out to be a heartless *******, but you simply cannot feel sorry for someone who is doing that to themselves. I feel sad for him. How about that? We can agree there at least. I feel sad for what he's pissing away. I feel sad for his family, and I feel sad that he is a 20 year old millionaire killing himself because of an image. And advocating it on top of that? Come on.

Yeah, I guess Alexander Hamilton deserves no sympathy.

And, CCP, just because I disagree with your point of view doesn't mean I'm trying to antagonize you. I still respect everyone here, including you, no matter what you believe, but I just don't understand. Whatever.

Edit - After actually searching the definition of 'antagonize,' then forget it. I'm trying to antagonize you.

Let me correct that. People dying from poor choices, who make no attempt to change their ways or seek help, deserve no sympathy (unless you're a family member or friend obviously, you have an attachment to the person that can't be overridden by other factors).

Geez. You sound like a D.A.R.E officer.

He actually comes off as surprisingly articulate in his interviews. I'm not going to bash his character because he has an affinity for drugs.

This right here is why I will stop responding to you. Comparing a gun duel where the other guy cheated, to a punk who voluntarily takes drugs, seeks no help for it, and promotes it to others as a way of getting fame.

Yea, great comparison.
