from what I know (which may not be much) is that UCSD has been known as a party school and not much of a rep academically while UCLA has a respected Medical program but at the end of the day its all about where you feel comfortable and in which program you feel you will thrive in, either way good luck to you.

Latter. I'd always pick the one connected to a consistent top 10 hospital (Ronald Reagan Medical Center). The UCLA Health System is one of the premiere ones in the world. Not even a question.
